  • Patent number: 8608614
Abstract: An actuation system for a drive unit of a motor vehicle includes a control unit which is assigned to the drive unit and which has a function level, a function monitoring level, and having a power output stage for actuating the drive unit or actuators or sensors which are assigned to the drive unit. To relieve the function a data transmission device for outputting data to a data bus is arranged in the function monitoring level. The data transmission device can output a drive setpoint torque to the drive unit, to actuators or sensors which are assigned to it, or to a power output stage (9, 9?) of a separate, second drive unit.

  • Patent number: 8447447
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuation system for a drive unit of a motor vehicle, having has a drive control unit which is assigned to the drive unit and which has a function level and a function monitoring level. A (4), a first data transmission device (5) which is arranged in the function level (3), of the drive control unit and is connected to a separate external control unit via a first communication path via which a predefined setpoint torque (Msoll) can be forwarded from the external control unit to the first data transmission device. In addition, the drive control unit also has a second data transmission device which is likewise additionally connected to the external control unit via a second communication path. The same predefined setpoint torque can also be forwarded from the external control unit to the second data transmission device via the second communication path.

  • Patent number: 8213140
Abstract: In an apparatus and method for the operation of an electrical machine, the electrical machine is connected to an external controller via a direct switch-off line and is rapidly switched off when the external controller identifies a fault in order to prevent an electrical machine from being operated in-correctly.

  • Patent number: 8125171
Abstract: A method for operating an electric machine with a driver system is provided, in which an operating variable of the electric machine and/or of the driver system is monitored. The validity of the input variables is checked with regard to their checksum and whether the input variables are up-to-date, and the permissibility of an actual moment (Mist2) of the electric machine depending on the operating state of the electric machine is checked. In case of invalid input variables or invalidity of the actual moment (Mist2), a fault reaction is initiated. In addition, the implementability of the planned change of rotary speed is checked and, in case of non-implementability, changed over into a more favorable mode of operation of the electric machine. An electric machine used as a starter/generator in a motor vehicle can be monitored.

  • Patent number: 8054014
Abstract: In a control system and a method for operating a permanent-magnet electrical machine, when the electrical machine is switched off after one of a functional computer and a monitoring computer of the control system has identified a fault, in order to reduce the braking torque of the electrical machine, which is switched-off but still rotating an output stage of the control system is subjected to a three-phase short circuit if the rotation speed D1 does not fall below a definable limit value GR1 or if a voltage U_DC of the output stage (2) exceeds a limit value Umax, and when the rotation speed D1 is below the definable limit value GR1 and a voltage U_DC of the output stage does not exceed a limit value Umax, all the circuits breakers (2o1, 2o2, 2o3, 2u1, 2u2, 2u3) of the output stage (2) are opened in order to fully disconnect the electrical machine from the output stage.

  • Patent number: 7996138
Abstract: In a control unit for operating a vehicle drive, and to a method for operating the control unit. An upper bound is imposed on the final desired torque output by the control unit with a limiting torque dependent on the measured/manipulated variables of the accelerator pedal value sensor, when the detected vehicle speed lies below a starting limiting speed.

  • Publication number: 20110130900
Abstract: The invention relates to an actuation system for a drive unit of a motor vehicle, having a drive control unit (1) which is assigned to the drive unit and which has a function level (3) and a function monitoring level (4), a first data transmission device (5) which is arranged in the function level (3), and is connected to a separate external control unit (2) via a first communication path (A) via which a predefined setpoint torque (Msoll) can be forwarded from the external control unit (2) to the first data transmission device (5). The object of the invention is to provide a highly available actuation system. According to the invention, the object is achieved in that the drive control unit (1) has a second data transmission device (6), and is additionally connected to the external control unit (2) via a second communication path (B), wherein the predefined setpoint torque (Msoll) can be forwarded from the external control unit (2) to the second data transmission device (5) via the second communication path.

  • Patent number: 7843671
Abstract: A drive system for an electrical machine is provided. The system includes a control unit and a monitoring unit, which is independent of the control unit. The control unit includes a device that converts one or more incoming operating parameters of the electrical machine to an output value. The monitoring unit includes a device that converts the operating parameters to a comparison value, with the conversion being carried out more quickly in the control unit than in the monitoring unit. A comparator compares the output value or an intermediate value of the output value with the comparison value of the output value or of the intermediate value.
