  • Publication number: 20070158903
Abstract: In a first exemplary embodiment of the present invention, an apparatus for decelerating a signature comprises a movable belt arrangement, and a motor coupled to the movable belt arrangement for controllably moving the movable belt arrangement through a cyclical velocity profile. Pursuant to a feature of the present invention, the movable belt arrangement is moved through a signature engaging section with the cyclical velocity profile causing the motor to decelerate the movable belt arrangement from a first speed to a second speed while engaging a signature in the signature engaging section. The signature enters the signature engaging section at the first speed, and leaves the signature engaging section at the second speed, lower than the first speed. The cyclical velocity profile causes the movable belt arrangement to accelerate upon the signature leaving the signature engaging section, back to the first speed, prior to a next signature entering the signature engaging section.

  • Publication number: 20070095228
Abstract: According to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, a method for operating a multi-unit printing arrangement, including multiple individual motors is provided. The method comprises the steps of operating the multi-unit printing arrangement, stopping the multi-unit printing operation by braking the multiple motors in stop operations, and staggering impression throw operations for individual units by a preselected time delay between commencement of each impression throw operation, a duration of the time delay between commencement of sequential impression throw off operations being selected to be of sufficient duration such that there is no overlap of large torque disturbances experienced at the multiple motors.

  • Patent number: 7159847
Abstract: The additional control valve device has a valve element which is guided between a gantry magnet and a trapping magnet in a reversibly movable manner in the direction of the longitudinal axis. An encircling seal is arranged on that side of the housing, in which the gantry magnet is arranged, which faces the valve element.

  • Publication number: 20060237886
Abstract: According to the invention, the first end (2a) and the second end (2b) of the pre-tensioned spring (2) are positioned in their pre-tensioned states against a first stop (1a) and a second stop respectively (1b). The rotating body (1) is first rotated at least X times about its longitudinal axis, without the action of external forces, whereby the first end (2a) engages once in a cam wheel (3) during each rotation, said wheel having at least X+1 teeth (3b) and at least one cam (3a) that runs parallel with the teeth (3b). The cam wheel (3) thus rotates one tooth (3b) further with each rotation of the rotating body (1). After at least X continuous rotations, the rotating body (1) is subsequently subjected to pre-tensioning until the cam wheel (3) and its cam (3a) lies against a third stop (6) and the first end (2a) simultaneously engages in the cam wheel (3).

  • Publication number: 20050205828
Abstract: Additional control valve device for an inlet duct of a piston-type internal combustion engine The additional control valve device has a valve element (3) which is guided between a gantry magnet (1) and a trapping magnet (2) in a reversibly movable manner in the direction of the longitudinal axis. An encircling seal (5) is arranged on that side of the housing (4), in which the gantry magnet (1) is arranged, which faces the valve element (3).

  • Publication number: 20050205825
Abstract: The present invention relates to a housing flange unit including a housing flange, within which a throttle shaft that is provided with a centrally located throttle is rotatably mounted perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the housing flange inside a first bearing and a second bearing. The inventive housing flange unit also includes a housing flange made of red brass and a wall thickness of 2 to 4 mm. The invention also relates to the use of the housing flange unit as a sealing unit for an exhaust gas cooler.

  • Patent number: 5134913
Abstract: A machine which is constructed for slitting travelling webs, such as corrugated boards or similar material, characterized by a slitting tool with the shape of a thin rotary blade, which is provided with a cutting peripheral edge. The rotary blade is contained within a holder so that only a small portion of the cutting edge will emerge from a narrow slot in a wall of the holder, which wall is placed very close to the path of the web. The holder also contains a liquid for cooling and lubricating the rotary blade.

  • Patent number: 5131900
Abstract: A machine for creasing and slitting a travelling web, such as a cardboard web, characterized by an assembly which includes a carriage having a tool storage device with at least one spare tool and a lever arm mounting a tool for rotation. The lever arm is movable from a position with the tool engaging the web passing through the machine to a withdrawn position which enables changing the tool with one of the spare tools. Each of the assemblies is adjustably positioned in a transverse direction relative to the direction of movement of the web. The device includes a second group of assemblies which contains counter-tools for the tools of the first group.
