  • Patent number: 6223904
Abstract: Continuous recovery of raw materials from coated films and apparatus for this purpose and film material recovered therewith. Large amounts of coated films can be fed to a continuous recycling process in which any pigments present in the coating and the substrate material are recovered. The treatment is carried out at room temperature in an alkaline medium consisting of soft soap, organic solvent and/or water, with or without the use of a catalyst. The solvent is recycled. After the first treatment stage, the film shreds can be treated in a second stage with a solvent/water mixture similarly to the first stage, and thorough final washing in a water or solvent circulation is effected in a third stage. The recovered film shreds are dried, pressed, milled and brought to the desired shape in a plastics agglomerator, and the recovered pigments are dried under reduced pressure (FIG. 1).

  • Patent number: 5364528
Abstract: A filter apparatus is described, in which there are in the interior of a filter housing (7) a multiplicity of filter elements (1) which are suspended on the filter cover (3) and in which the inner bores of the filter cartridges are connected to the outlet nozzle (6) via a system of channels. Against the wall of the filter housing (7) there bears a film bag (2), the upper end of which is welded to an O-ring (4), which is seated in an annular groove on the flange of the filter housing, with the diameters of O-ring and film bag being identical. Furthermore, volume displacers (16, 17, 25), which extend in the axial direction over the entire length of the filter housing, are provided between filter bag (2) and inner wall of the filter housing as well as in the inner space of the filter cartridges. When a filter is changed, these volume displacers are, for example, inflated with compressed air, as a result of which the volume of residual filtrate is considerably reduced, so that less loss of dispersion occurs.

  • Patent number: 4775553
Abstract: Magnetic recording media are produced by dispersing pulverulent magnetic material in a mixture of a solvent, an organic polymer binder, a dispersant and other conventional additives, with the aid of a conventional dispersing apparatus and using a particular ceramic grinding medium, applying the resulting dispersion in the form of a layer on a base and then compacting the layer.

  • Patent number: 4670080
Abstract: A metal-laminated base material for printed circuit boards is produced in a double-belt press. Sheets of laminated material impregnated with an accelerated resin system and prehardened are preheated in a preheating zone, before running into a pressure-effective zone of the double-belt press, and are supplied together with the metal foils to the heating region of the pressure-effective zone. Here, the individual layers are pressed to form the base material. The base material is preferably cooled under pressure in a cooling region of the pressure-effective zone, if appropriate heat-treated, trimmed at the edges and cut to length. The process provides uniform base-material boards of perfect quality.

  • Patent number: 3967621
Abstract: A needle holder includes a base body which receives the puncturable closure of a medical preparation holder. A hub part, containing the needle, is mounted in the base body through a first threaded connection for movement to a work position in which the needle punctures the closure. A protective sleeve for the needle is mounted on the base body through a second threaded connection, oppositely threaded with respect to the first connection. The sleeve and the hub part are coupled by an axial gear tooth arrangement which permits axial movement of the hub part upon rotation of the protective sleeve on the base body. The base body may exhibit a variety of forms, the second threaded connection may include a saw tooth profile which permits the protective sleeve to be slid on a base body without rotation, and a friction coupling may be provided between the hub part and the protective sleeve.
