  • Patent number: 4572591
Abstract: A ball bearing arrangement for longitudinal movement on a shaft or the like comprising a sleeve-shaped cage having a plurality of outwardly directed, axially aligned recesses, in each of which a raceway plate is inserted. Each raceway plate has a closed raceway formed thereon. An endless row of balls is arranged between each raceway plate and the cage. The cage has a plurality of guideways connecting the recesses with the cage bore and guiding the load-bearing balls. The angular distances between the load-bearing balls of adjacent endless rows are unequal. The raceway plates are interchangeable. • Patent number: 4570773
Abstract: In an antifriction-bearing throwout, particularly for automotive clutches, a clutch bearing with a non-rotating bearing-ring abuts in a radially slidable manner against a thrust plate of a sliding sleeve and is held in the centered position. To facilitate centering of the clutch bearing in relation to the tongue ends of the clutch diaphragm-spring, and to prevent slip-through of the clutch bearing in the case of shock as by hard road-bumps, the non-rotating bearing-ring is arranged in a manner such that, overcoming a radially-acting friction force in relation to sliding sleeve, it can tilt in a circumferential direction, within certain limits, and can slide in a radial direction along two guide-surfaces that run parallel to one another.

  • Patent number: 4550479
Abstract: In a process for the production of a heat treated bearing ring with at least one longitudinal slit extending axially therethrough formed by means of two abutting ends lying opposite one another in the circumferential direction, one or more flat band sections of heat treatable strip material are stamped with at least a holding tongue formed on one or both respective abutting ends and a holding recess on the opposite abutting end fitting the respective holding tongue with a force fit. The band section is bent to form a bearing ring, with each holding tongue of the one abutting end radially engaging the respective holding recess of the other abutting end on the respective longitudinal slit. The ring is then heat treated and then the holding tongue is broken out of its respective recess.

  • Patent number: 4526259
Abstract: In a hydraulically operable release arrangement for clutches, especially for vehicle clutches, the release force is transmitted to the plate spring or the like of the clutch by way of a piston, a fixed bearing ring, a multiplicity of rolling bodies, and a rotating bearing ring. The piston is movably arranged in a housing and is biased by a helical spring arranged in a pressure space formed between the piston and the housing. The piston and the housing are each provided with an axial projection. In order to secure the piston against rotation and to damp vibrations in the piston without additional machining or special parts, the helical spring is arranged with its spring ends abutting the axial projections such that rotation of the piston in the direction of rotation of the rotating bearing ring is prevented.

  • Patent number: 4511188
Abstract: A ball bearing for lengthwise and rotational movement on a shaft has circumferentially distributed endless rows of balls. It consists of an outer sleeve with an axially extending cylindrical race in its bore for the loaded balls of each row and a sleeve-shaped cage rotatably arranged in the bore of the outer sleeve. The cage has axially extending races for the loaded and unloaded balls and these guides are interconnected in pairs by semi-circular shaped radially outwardly open turnaround races. An axially extending return recess for the unloaded balls of each row is machined between each pair of cylindrical races, either in the cylindrical bore of the outer sleeve or on the cylindrical shaft. In order to avoid contact wear of the balls in the turnaround races upon turning movement of the shaft, the cage is held at its two ends by an end ring having an outer section radially covering the turnaround guides of the cage.

  • Patent number: 4505369
Abstract: In a clutch throwout, particularly for automotive clutches, a self-centering clutch bearing is arranged on or in a sliding sleeve. The stationary bearing ring of the clutch bearing is connected with the sliding sleeve via an intermediate element, which features guides for the radial sliding, in two mutually crossing radial directions, of the clutch bearing in relation to the sliding sleeve. To enable the clutch bearing to slide in any radial direction and to position itself precisely centered in relation to the tongue ends of the clutch diaphragm spring, without great constraining forces, while, regardless of position, damping the relative movements of clutch bearing in relation to sliding sleeve, intermediate element is radially interlocked with the stationary bearing ring and with the sliding sleeve, in two mutually crossing directions.

  • Patent number: 4489992
Abstract: A self aligning bearing structure, especially adapted for electric motors, has an outer ring with a plastic jacket thereon. A housing for supporting a bearing has a cylindrical seat for receiving the outer ring. The plastic jacket has one annular central ridge of greater diameter, in the unassembled condition, than the seat, so that the annular ridge is compressed to substantially the compression limit when the outer ring is assembled in the seat. The plastic jacket may have a conical end to simplify assembly.

  • Patent number: 4482338
Abstract: A torque transmitting assembly consisting of a shaft mounted in the housing and a plurality of rolling elements arranged in rows in the annular space between the shaft and the housing. The shaft has a series of axially extending grooves defining elongated inner raceways for the rolling elements. • Patent number: 4437214
Abstract: In a non-machining method for manufacturing a solid-bottomed or internally flanged bearing race, especially for rolling contact bearings, the starting material is in the form of a band. For the economical manufacture of this bearing race with an annular groove of extremely precise cross-sectional shape which reduces the wall thickness of the bearing race, and which is situated at the transition from the bottom or flange portion to the race portion, a flat roundel is first stamped from the band. Then a concentric annular groove is worked into one of the planar surfaces of the roundel, while the opposite planar surface thereof is supported on a planar supporting surface. Lastly, the roundel is deep-drawn in a die to form a bearing race having a solid bottom. The end face of the drawing punch concentrically engages the roundel's planar surface that is encompassed by the annular groove.
