  • Patent number: 8063241
Abstract: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of toluene-diisocyanate. In this process, toluenediamine is reacted with phosgene to give crude toluene-diisocyanate, the crude toluene-diisocyanate is purified by distillation, the distillation residue formed during the distillation is hydrolysed at temperatures of less than 230° C. under absolute pressures of less than 30 bar, and the toluenediamine formed by this process is subsequently recycled into the reaction of toluenediamine and phosgene.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 2010
Date of Patent: November 22, 2011
    Assignee: Bayer MaterialScience AG
Inventors: Wolfgang Lorenz, Lars Padeken, Bernd Pennemann, Friedhelm Steffens, Lothar Weismantel

  • Patent number: 6540715
Abstract: Method for the in situ formulation of a medicinal substance solution for parenteral administration, in which at least two metered part-streams are continuously combined with the aid of a mixer to an active ingredient-containing total volumetric flow, characterized in that the resulting medicinal substance solution is not in thermodynamic equilibrium, and in that the resulting total volumetric flow after mixing is 0.2 ml/h to 500 ml/h, preferably 5 ml/h to 500 ml/h, an apparatus for carrying out the method, and an active ingredient administration kit which contains the apparatus.

  • Patent number: 6448385
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for preparing metal complexes of polyvalent metal ions with azo compounds of formula (I) or tautomeric structures, in which R and R′ are —OH, —NH2, —NH—CN, aryl-amino, acylamino, or p-chlorophenyl, and R1 and R1′ are independently —OH or —NH2, that intercalate an intercalate by (1) stirring an aqueous dispersion of an alkali metal salt of the azo compound with the polyvalent metal salt at 10 to 35° C., (2) admixing an aqueous solution, dispersion, or emulsion of the intercalate, (3) passing the mixture through a reaction zone at 85 to 140° C., while regulating the pH so that the product dispersion leaving the reaction zone has a pH of 0.5 to 3, (4) adjusting the pH of the mixture to at least pH 5, and (5) isolating the intercalated metal complex.

  • Patent number: 6225497
Abstract: A process for rapidly mixing phosgene and an amine in the gas phase to produce the corresponding isocyanate. Micro-structure mixers are used for the rapid mixing. The educts emerge from the micro-structure mixer in the form of thin free jets which mix very rapidly by diffusion and/or turbulence. As a result, the mixing operation is accelerated substantially as compared with conventional reactors. The isocyanate yield is also increased.
