  • Patent number: 5012395
Abstract: To permit manufacture of totally enclosed "increased safety" light fixtures without requiring specific molds for light fixtures capable of accommodating lamps of different sizes, such as florescent lamps (39), the fixture is assembled of an elongated profiled extrusion structure (2, 9) to which end caps (11) are attached, the extrusion structure having upstanding side walls formed with a groove (24, 25) shaped to receive a piano hinge (4) which is located in a transparent cover (3), the cover and the trough-like portions (2, 9) with the end caps being formed with interengaging projection-and-recess means, with a sealing strip (56) located in the recess.

  • Patent number: 4828508
Abstract: An explosion protected socket of the ignition protected type for double pin base fluorescent bulbs including a protected clamping device for securing the socket pins against coming loose and associated electrical connecting structure configured so that a receiving element provided with insertion openings for the socket pins is mounted to be movable within limits in the socket housing. The clamping device is coupled to an actuating device which becomes active jointly for both socket pins. A locking device which is positively coupled to the clamping device is disposed at the receiving element and is equipped with at least one locking element which is movable between an active position and an inactive position to hold the socket pins at a predetermined safety distance from voltage carrying parts of the electrical connecting structure.

  • Patent number: 4768978
Abstract: A fuse element with an essentially prismatic or cylindrical casing contains two electrical contacts that are accessible from the outside, that are situated on at least one exterior side of the casing and are electrically connected with a fuse arrangement inside the casing. In the casing an encoding arrangement is provided in which the electrical tripping characteristics of the fuse arrangement are encoded. To ensure a sufficient encoding variety with miniaturized design versions, even at higher manufacturers' tolerances, the encoding arrangement is formed by at least one appendage that is laterally or radially protruding from the casing in relation to the longitudinal axis of the casing and in whose configuration the tripping characteristics of the fuse arrangement are encoded.
