    Abstract: An adhesive composition containing a chlorinated ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer and at least one of a phenolic resin and an aromatic nitroso compound as an adhesion-promoting additive. The chlorinated ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer can be prepared without the utilization of environmentally hazardous chlorinated solvents and provides for adhesive compositions which exhibit excellent adhesion and resistance to adverse environmental conditions.
