Publication number: 20100180488Abstract: A weedless fishing lure having arms supporting first and second single hooks substantially equidistant from an attachment point. The first hook is mounted upon a fish-resembling lure member, with a spinner member attached behind the fish-resembling lure member. The spinner member is configured to produce motion when the lure is pulled through the water, which motion is transferred to the fish-resembling lure member, thereby to produce motion attractive to fish. The second hook is disposed in a plane common to the first hook, with the second hook being operatively disposed in a skirted member.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2009Publication date: July 22, 2010Inventors: James R. Keeton, Louie W. Gibbs

Patent number: 6775945Abstract: An artificial fishing lure of resilient material having a body portion and a flexible, elongate tail. The tail possesses a curved configuration, being attached to the aft end of the body portion. The tail is thin and essentially flat when the tail is in a curved configuration, but it assumes a relatively straight configuration when the lure is moved through the water. A plurality of tassels are affixed in a spaced relationship along a long edge of the tail, with the tassels being relatively flexible and adapted to move with the tail at the time the tail undertakes a highly desirable undulating motion. The tassels cause the tail to give off vibrations attractive to fish. This lure is ideal for use when fishing for Large Mouth and Small Mouth Bass, but it is also quite suitable for use with species such as Stripe Bass and Wall Eye.Type: GrantFiled: May 16, 2001Date of Patent: August 17, 2004Assignee: Classic Fishing Products, Inc.Inventors: Louie W. Gibbs, James E. Tyner

Patent number: 5725892Abstract: A mold utilized for creating a fishing worm having an abdominal cavity that contains an attractant gel having a stimulating taste to a fish, the mold having first and second sections, with each section having a cavity portion. Each cavity portion of the mold represents a part of a desired worm configuration, with the cavity portion of one mold section being able to be brought into careful alignment with the cavity portion of the other mold section, after which molten plastic can be injected into the completed mold cavity constituted by the aligned cavity portions of the first and second mold sections. An elongate plug held in place by a small diameter supporting member is mounted in a mid portion of the cavity of the first mold section, at a position corresponding to the abdominal region of the worm to be created.Type: GrantFiled: March 26, 1996Date of Patent: March 10, 1998Assignee: Classic Fishing Products, Inc.Inventor: Louie W. Patent number: 5381620Abstract: A fishing lure utilizing an easily changed tail portion, with the head member being of hard, relatively rigid construction, to the rear of which any one of a variety of generally similar tail members of soft, flexible plastic may be attached in a secure manner. The head member has first and second attachment points thereon, to which a fishing line and a fishhook may be respectively attached, with this member also having an aft portion upon which one or more rearwardly directed attachment devices are mounted. The attachment device or devices involve at least one rearwardly extending component having an enlarged portion, with each tail member to be used with the head member having a forwardmost portion in which least one cavity is disposed.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1993Date of Patent: January 17, 1995Assignee: Classic Fishing Products, Inc.Inventor: Louie W. Patent number: 5329871Abstract: A pivoting bracket for supporting a boat seat at an appropriate position above the deck of a boat, such bracket permitting the seat normally to remain upright, but also to be pivoted, on occasion, into a low center of gravity position adjacent the deck, thus to provide better visibility to the person operating the boat. This bracket comprises a pair of interfitting members, with one of these members being a clevis-shaped first member having spaced-apart portions, and the second member being interposed between the spaced-apart portions. A pivot pin extends through the spaced-apart portions of the first member as well as through the second member, the pivot pin permitting the members to reside in an aligned relationship when the seat is intended to reside in an upright position. The pivot pin also permits the members to reside in an angular attitude when the seat is to be moved out of the upright position.Type: GrantFiled: March 19, 1993Date of Patent: July 19, 1994Assignee: Classic Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: Louie W. Patent number: 5237772Abstract: A double barbed fishhook adapted for use in conjunction with a soft plastic worm, the fishhook comprising a shaft curving around to form a hook point and primary barb at one end, and having a fishline securing location adjacent the other end. A secondary shaft of short length is located adjacent the fishline securing location, with a secondary barb being located adjacent the end of the secondary shaft. The secondary shaft points generally in the direction of the hook point, but is spaced at least one inch therefrom. The hook point and primary barb are designed to be inserted into an upper middle portion of the plastic worm, and the secondary shaft and barb are designed to receive the head end of the plastic worm, such that the upper portion of the worm extends between the pair of barbs, rather than being forced along the shaft portion of the fishhook.Type: GrantFiled: March 27, 1992Date of Patent: August 24, 1993Assignee: Classic Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventor: Louie W.
