  • Patent number: 8731352
Abstract: Fiber optic assemblies include subunit cables wrapped in binders. The assemblies have small cross sections and low bend radii while maintaining acceptable attenuation losses. SZ stranding of the subunit cables allows ease of access to the individual cables during installation.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 2013
Date of Patent: May 20, 2014
    Assignee: Corning Cable Systems LLC

  • Publication number: 20120007030
Abstract: A tool and a method for installing one or more cables into a molding is disclosed. The tool includes a laying chute on a first end of the tool having an open passage along its length for inserting one or more cables into the laying chute. The tool also includes one or more closing devices that are rotatably attached to the laying chute to allow insertion of the one or more cables into the laying chute. The cable is inserted into the laying chute and secured using the closing devices. Thereafter, the tool is moved along the length of the molding for inserting the cable therein.

  • Patent number: 7836448
Abstract: In a storage area network (SAN), different tasks may expect different types of commands for commencing execution, such as interactive or offline, and may have different formats for reporting status and completion, such as log files or message based. A framework for defining the business logic enveloped in a particular task, and providing a common manner of deploying, or enabling invocation, of the task provides consistent operator control for scheduling, monitoring, ensuring completion, and tracking errors and other events. Business logic modules are identified as commands corresponding to a task. Transactions including a set of the commands define an ordered sequence for completing the task. The operator requests a particular set of tasks, using a selection tree, and the task manager builds a corresponding execution tree to identify and map the transactions and commands of the task to the execution tree to optimize execution and mitigate redundancies.

  • Patent number: 4414799
Abstract: A device and method are shown for splicing a rope of the type made up of multiple strands. A frame is adapted to receive a length of rope to be spliced. A flexible cable extending between sides of the frame secures the rope within the frame. A fluid actuated piston-cylinder and cable-pulley arrangement cooperate to provide an upwardly biasing force to bias a selected strand of the rope outwardly from the remaining rope strands secured within the frame. The user of the device can then pass a strand free end through the opening to effect a splice.
