  • Patent number: 6110560
Abstract: A mixed media flock transfer, including an insert material, having a base sheet, with its surface area coated with a release adhesive, a patterned flock material having ends adhering to the release adhesive of the base sheet, in the form of a predetermined pattern, an insert material also having a predetermined pattern and which produces a design image being inserted at certain locations within the patterned flock, which when combined with the design pattern of the flock material, produces an overall image, the insert material also being secured to the base sheet by a pressure sensitive adhesive, both the patterned flock and insert material having a binding adhesive applied to their exposed surfaces, whereby the design image may be secured by the binding adhesive when transferred onto a product.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: February 16, 1999
Date of Patent: August 29, 2000
    Assignee: High Voltage Graphics, Inc.
    Inventor: Louis B. Abrams
  • Patent number: 6083332
Abstract: Plush textured multicolored flock transfers are obtained which have the appearance of a direct flocked article and the manufacturing and application advantages of a flock transfer. The method of manufacture includes applying sequentially to an adhesive coated base sheet different colored flocks which can be greater than 0.5 mm long through predetermined areas of masked screens.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 6010764
Abstract: A transfer comprising a flocking and non-compatible applique, the transfer to be applied to a material in a single application, the transfer being comprised of a release sheet to which flocking is applied in a desired pattern; an applique being cut to a desired pattern to fit with the pattern of said flocking, said applique being adhered to said release sheet; and a transfer adhesive applied over said applique and said flocking, said transfer adhesive being the type that adheres the transfer to a desired material.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 28, 1998
Date of Patent: January 4, 2000
    Assignee: High Voltage Graphics, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5597637
Abstract: A stretchable hot melt is applied to a transfer so that the transfer may stretch when it is applied to a stretchable substrate without cracking or splitting. The hot melt is made from an extrusion of polyester and urethane combined in a ratio of between 80:20 and 20:80.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 5346746
Abstract: A combination flock and other material transfer. The flock has an open interior section. The other material, such as twill, is die cut greater than the opening of the interior section of the flock but less than the outside dimensions of the flock design. The unit is applied to a garment with a hot melt adhesive which seals the flock to the twill and the edges of the flock and the twill to the garment.

  • Patent number: 5047103
Abstract: A method of making an applique by printing a release adhesive upon a release sheet; flocking flock through an open section of a barrier into the adhesive to result in at least two patterns arranged to form a predetermined design adhered to the release sheet; applying a binding adhesive to free ends of the flock; transferring at least one of the predetermined designs of flock to a substrate material; and affixing the substrate material; with said predetermined design of flock to an article. An applique composed of substrate material adapted to be affixed to an article; and flock having end portions coated with a binder adhered in a predetermined design to the substrate material. A article composed of a surface area; a substrate material affixed to the surface area; a layer of binding adhesive on the substrate; and flock having end portions adhering to the layer of binding adhesive to form a predetermined design on the substrate material.
