  • Patent number: 10807617
Abstract: A retaining system for a mass-transit vehicle adapted to travel on a guideway includes a longitudinal retaining track having two retaining rails. Each retaining rail has a projection projecting inwardly toward the other retaining rail. A grabbing mechanism of the mass-transit vehicle has grabbing portions extending outwardly underneath the projections of the retaining rails. The grabbing portions are pivotally and resiliently connected to a wheelset of the mass-transit vehicle proximate a midplane of the body. When the mass-transit vehicle rolls on one side past a predetermined angle, an opposite one of the grabbing portions is operative to contact a corresponding one of the horizontal projections. The roll of the mass-transit vehicle is thereby gradually stopped under a force developed by a corresponding resilient element.

  • Patent number: 10442448
Abstract: A secondary suspension system for a railcar comprises a chassis, a primary spring, a levelling actuator, a first hydraulic circuit and a secondary spring. The levelling actuator is adapted to be connected to the carbody. A piston shoulder, located at the lower portion of the piston and below an opening in the chassis, reaches farther than the opening so as to be capable of catching the chassis. The secondary spring is at least partially positioned underneath the piston shoulder. The piston is operative to adopt a high position inside the body under a pressure of a hydraulic fluid injected in a lower chamber below a piston head. This makes the piston shoulder abut against the chassis, thereby compressing the primary spring between the body and the chassis without compressing the secondary suspension.

  • Patent number: 9867255
Abstract: A light emitting arrangement is adapted to produce white output light of a total luminous intensity Itot and having an emission peak in the wavelength range of from 400 to 440 nm, comprising: a first light emitting element adapted to emit light of a first luminous intensity I1 and having an emission peak in a first wavelength range of from 440 to 460 nm; and a second light emitting element adapted to emit light of a second luminous intensity I2 and having an emission peak in a second wavelength range of from 380 to 440 nm, wherein the first light emitting element and the second light emitting element are independently controllable such that I2 can be adjusted independently of I1. The possibility of controlling the contribution of deep blue light allows a natural appearance of a crisp white light source at all emission intensities, and may also be used to enhance perception of contrast.

  • Patent number: 9065235
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of assembling VCSEL chips (1) on a sub-mount (2). A de-wetting layer (13) is deposited on a connecting side of the VCSEL chips (1) which is to be connected to the sub-mount (2). A further de-wetting layer (13) is deposited on a connecting side of the sub-mount (2) which is to be connected to the VCSEL chips (1). The de-wetting layers (13) are deposited with a patterned design or are patterned after depositing to define connecting areas (21) on the sub-mount (2) and the VCSEL chips (1). A solder (15) is applied to the connecting areas (21) of at least one of the two connecting sides. The VCSEL chips (1) are placed on the sub-mount (2) and soldered to the sub-mount (2) to electrically and mechanically connect the VCSEL chips (1) and the sub-mount (2). With the proposed method a high alignment accuracy of the VCSEL chips (1) on the sub-mount (2) is achieved without time consuming measures.

  • Patent number: 4844641
Abstract: A disposable toothbrush comprises a toothbrush body having bristles, and a toothbrush back containing a dose of toothpaste. The toothpaste is isolated from the bristles by a protective film. A safety cap retains the toothbrush back separate from the toothbrugh body. Removal of the cap allows the back to approach the body, which causes tearing of the protective film and distribution of the toothpaste onto the bristles.
