  • Patent number: 11116667
Abstract: The present pair of eye pieces may have a rotatable adjuster on the super structure of the eye pieces or on the headband between the eye pieces. When the rotatable adjuster is rotated one way, the headband decreases in effective length and tightens about the head of a user. When the rotatable adjuster is rotated the other way, the headband increases in effective length and loosens about the head of the user. With a rotatable adjuster, increases and decreases in length may be made in minute increments.

  • Patent number: 9376051
Abstract: A method for notifying a first driver of a first vehicle that a first responder is ahead of the first driver on a road and that the first responder is stopped on the road. The method employs an optical emitter and optical detector apparatus. The optical emitter may be in or on a police car and may be turned on when the police car is on the shoulder of a road, such as when an officer has pulled a motorist over. The optical detector apparatus is in or on a vehicle traveling toward the police car that is stopped on the shoulder of the road. The optical detector apparatus communicates with a warning device to sound or display a warning to the driver of the approaching vehicle.

  • Publication number: 20090174571
Abstract: A navigation system having an emergency warning system where the navigation system includes components such as a navigation processor, a GPS, a speaker for providing text-to-voice directions, a display for displaying at least the starting location and final destination, power switch, and a power port that permits connection to the cigarette lighter port of the vehicle, and wherein the emergency warning system includes a component such as a receiver for picking up a right of way vehicle predefined signal. When the right of way vehicle predefined signal is picked up, the emergency warning system can display various warnings such as a text warning or an audible warning via the display and speaker.

  • Patent number: 7538687
Abstract: A common inexpensive device such as an automotive internal rear view mirror, cell phone, CHMBL (center high mounted brake light), license plate or stand-alone housing incorporates an emergency warning system to detect a predefined signal emitted by an right of way vehicle such as an ambulance, police car, fire engine, or train. The right of way vehicle sends out a specific predefined signal to a predefined area. The specific predefined signal is picked up by a receiver of the present emergency warning system. Then, after verification of the specific predefined signal, the emergency warning system emits a warning, preferably an audio warning.

The right of way vehicle sends out a specific predefined signal to a predefined area. The specific predefined signal is picked up by a receiver of the present emergency warning system, which is preferably housed in a rear view mirror or cell phone, and which is always on, whether the internal rear view mirror, cell phone, or CHMBL is powered on or powered off. Then, after verification of the specific predefined signal, the internal rear view mirror, cell phone or CHMBL emits a warning, preferably an audio warning from a speaker housed in the internal rear view mirror, cell phone, or CHMBL. The emergency warning system can be incorporated into a telematics unit.
