  • Patent number: 6840894
Abstract: A modular, resistive, limb-muscle exercise system is disclosed comprising: (a) a torso anchoring module configured for encircling and being adjustably secured around a selected portion of a person's torso; (b) at least one limb extremity-receiving module; and (c) at least one elongate resilient module having a proximal portion being adapted for placement in operative association with module (a) and a distal portion adapted for placement in operative association with module (b), the resilient module being linearly positioned relative to the limb of the received limb extremity to provide a variable, resistive tension to the muscles of the limb associated between module (a) and module (b) during exercise of the associated limb. A kit embodiment and exercise method is also disclosed. The modular resistive limb-muscle exercise system is particularly suitable for use by physically challenged persons.

  • Patent number: 6470541
Abstract: Fabric anchor embodiments comprise at least one elongate anchor member having first and second ends with axial fastening features for temporary axial locking engagement. The fabric anchors can be disengaged upon application of sufficient disengaging axial tension. A preferred embodiment is a self-fastening single elongate member. In other preferred embodiments one fabric anchor can fasten to another fabric anchor to provide anchoring for variable fabric thickness or lengths.

  • Patent number: 6439388
Abstract: Disclosed is a self-balancing food holder for single hand use comprising a platter for receiving and supporting food and a lower surface for engaging the hand of a user and a restraint member connected to the edge of the platter at laterally spaced locations. The restraint member has a restraining portion vertically spaced from the lower surface of the platter such that the user's hand can be interposed between the platter and the restraining portion. A preferred food holder has features for holding one or more dining accessories. The platter and restraint member can be formed from an initially flat sheet of material.
