Abstract: Ground-based barrier systems for permitting or inhibiting vehicle passage, and capturing unauthorized vehicles. One example of the present technology is directed to a ground-based vehicle barrier system, comprising a bollard movable between a recessed position permitting vehicle passage and an extended position inhibiting vehicle passage. A link is connected to or formed as part of the bollard. The link is extending transverse to the bollard. The ground-based vehicle barrier system further comprises a drive connected to a connection point of the link and configured to selectively move the bollard in the recessed and extended positions.
