  • Patent number: 4882885
Abstract: A space-dividing panel having an interior rectagular framework provided with coverings on both sides thereof, and channels extending along either or both of the upper and lower edges thereof for accommodating communication and elctrical cables. A porting arrangement is secured to and within the panel to provide porting for electrical or communication cabling substantially at worksurface height.

  • Patent number: 4662689
Abstract: A file cabinet provided with a housing which has a front opening, and which supports thereon a vertically-spaced plurality of drawer units supported for horizontal displacement between open and closed positions relative to the housing. A horizontally elongated but vertically narrow filler panel is positioned within the front opening of the housing between two vertically-spaced drawer units. The filler panel is disposed at a convenient working height which is preferably in the range of 24 to 36 inches above the floor. The filler panel mounts thereon a key-operated lock mechanism which is preferably centrally positioned both vertically and horizontally of the cabinet, and which activates locking bolts which project sidewardly of the cabinet for activating vertically-movable lock bars which are mounted for limited vertical displacement on the insides of the housing side walls. These lock bars having locking elements which engage the closed drawer units to hold them in a locked position.

  • Patent number: 4648527
Abstract: A compressor unit for a file unit, wherein there is provided a compressor body which has a substantially vertical plate part which extends partially across the file unit and is positionable adjacent the rear of a row of documents. The compressor body mounts thereon a brake plate which is slidably accommodated within a confined channel which extends longitudinally along a wall of the file unit. A pressure plate is slidably mounted on the compressor body and has a foot portion which overlies the brake plate so that braking flanges as associated with the fixed channel are interposed therebetween. A manually-releasable compression linkage is movably mounted on the compressor body and has wedging surfaces which cooperate with the pressure plate for causing the pressure plate and brake plate to be moved toward one another to frictionally grip the braking flanges therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4293218
Abstract: A reference light beam projector of the type which produces a modulated plane of light for use as a reference in many different applications such as for aligning railroad tracks. This modulated reference plane is formed by projecting a collimated light beam along a predetermined path and providing means for variably refracting the beam so to effectively variably bend the beam back and forth along a plane. Specifically, the means for variably refracting the beam is a rotating optical element comprising a window through which the beam is transmitted and variably refracted as the optical element is rotated.
