Abstract: A system and method for maintaining and optimizing a fleet of multifunction peripherals is operated by use of a smartphone. The smartphone provides recommendations to configure multifunction peripherals or other equipment fleets to avoid service calls. The smartphone is configured to allow a user to review device status for a fleet of multifunction peripherals so that the user knows which multifunction peripherals will need attention. The system provides the user with alerts of issues, with predictions before issues occur, and with a prescription for what to do so that the user can resolve the issue themselves. The system further provides recommendations based on needs, usage, and other customer usage or purchase data to allow the user to review multifunction peripherals, purchase services, install options and configure devices in the fleet for optimization.

Abstract: A system and method for power management by intelligent print queue management includes a processor and a memory storing a print job queue. The memory also stores data corresponding to a plurality of users associated history of printed document pickup times relative to their print job transmission time. A network interface receives print jobs into the queue and the processor determines an anticipated pickup time for a printout of the first print job to be picked up in accordance with history data, and schedules printing of the first print job in accordance its associated, anticipated job pickup time such that the print job is printed before that time, factoring in a device warmup time and time to print the first print job.

Abstract: A system and method digital conversion of schedule data includes schedule data stored in a data format corresponding to a scheduling application. A digital imager to captures a digital image of a calendar page sheet into a memory and a processor extracts character data from the digital image. The processor parses temporal data from the character data and determines a calendar entry date from parsed temporal data. The processor further parses event data from the character data and updates an electronic calendar entry for a determined calendar entry date with the event data.

Abstract: A system and method for customized multifunction peripherals includes a controller having a processor and a memory that stores identified electronic customization groups each including electronic files, such as forms, applications, screen backgrounds, company logos, screen positioning information, and labels corresponding to a unique business type. Further stored in the memory are device customization data sets corresponding to document processing operations for the multifunction peripheral. The processor generates indicia on the display identifying each customization group by business type and receives a user selection of a selected identified customization group selected from the indicia. The processor generates, on the display, a customizations menu listing available customizations associated with a user's identity from the selected identified customization group.

A user interface receives destination address data corresponding to a plurality of document delivery destinations as specified by a user. A memory stores language selection data for each of the plurality of document delivery destinations, as well as web service address information corresponding to at least one cloud-based document processing service including a document translation service. A processor communicates document output data, corresponding to the electronic document, and the language selection data to the at least one document translation service via a network interface, and the translated document is sent to one or more destinations as specified by the destination address data.

Through the front panel display of the multifunction peripheral, a user selects an icon to initially open the application store. The document processing controller receives a web page or other data from the application store that details the applications and user interfaces available for download. The available items are displayed to the user, the user selects one or more items for download, and the selected items are downloaded onto the multifunction peripheral. Once downloaded, the user can select the items via the front panel display of the multifunction peripheral to execute downloaded applications or to use a customized user interface on the multifunction peripheral.
