Abstract: An auxiliary hydraulic motor comprises a fixed casing having a cam, a cylinder block, an internal fluid distributor, and a through shaft which extends inside the casing along the axis of rotation of the cylinder block. The through shaft is constituted by a length of a vehicle transmission shaft. The motor includes an axially moving coupling member suitable, in a first position, for being engaged with the cylinder block and the shaft via first and second mechanical engagement means, and in a second position, for being disengaged from the cylinder block and/or the shaft.

Abstract: The present invention provides a method and apparatus for evaluating the performance of a signal-processing device during a test period when an input signal is applied to the signal-processing device and an output signal is generated by it. A select profile of the input (or output) signal quality is derived at intervals in which the output (or input) signal lies within some predetermined range. The derived profile may be normalized with respect to the quality of the input (or output) signal throughout the test period. The profile is indicative of device performance of the device being tested. The method may be implemented in either hardware or software.

Abstract: A telecommunication system having a cellular mobile telephone system in which calls from cellular telephones are routed through a mobile service switching center exchange. Users of the system, having control of respective groups of mobile telephone are able via user terminals to access respective databases in a signalling processor and to place in the data base information about call parameters, such as call restrictions, for ones of the telephone of that user controlled group. When a call is made from any mobile telephone, the call signal is decoded at the relevant exchange and a determination is made as to whether the call originates from a mobile telephone which is a member of a controlled group. If so, the related database in the controller is accessed and the call is controlled in accordance with the appropriate call parameter, on the basis of the information in the related database.

Abstract: This invention relates to a drive unit comprising a frame; a rotating shaft, a first fluid motor presenting a cam fixed with respect to the frame; and a cylinder block fast with the shaft driven by the first motor at a first speed of rotation.According to the invention, the shaft presents a recess conveying a drilling fluid; the cylinder block of the first motor is coaxial to the axis of rotation; drive unit comprises a second motor coupled in rotation to the shaft and driving it at a second speed of rotation higher than the first speed of rotation; a first pinion gear is fast with and coaxial to the shaft; the second motor presents an output shaft fast with a second pinion gear meshing with the first pinion gear; and the first motor is of the type with "disengageable pistons".One application is the production of a high-performance drilling assembly.

Abstract: Certain substituted cyanobenzeneacetonitriles, and their halobenzyl halide intemediates are effective preemergence and postemergence herbicides, which control undesired vegetation without injury to crops.
