  • Patent number: 4903715
Abstract: A substantially rectangular body member molded of a resilient, chemically inert, synthetic material and defining a three sided enclosure has pivotally and swingably interconnected therewith a substantially rectangular cover member, the cover member being swingable between an overlying position with respect to the back of the body member and an overlying position with respect to the front of the body member to cover the enclosure. A base integrally formed with the body member and adapted to be securely placed against the scalp cooperates with a clamp bar swingable into clamping engagement against the body member base to secure selected strands of hair to be treated for frosting or streaking against the base. The clamp bar can be selectively pivotally connected to each end of the base member to accommodate for either left hand or right hand use of the clamp bar.

  • Patent number: 4732170
Abstract: A hair styling implement for facilitating the withdrawal of spaced groups of hair strands from the scalp for separate treatment with bleach or the like for "frosting" or "streaking" combines a comb having a comb back portion which extends into a pick-type handle at one end with a plurality of equi-distantly spaced, arcuate hook members moveable between open and closed positions with respect to the outer edge of the comb back portion by operation of a slide member with the use of the thumb while holding the handle.

  • Patent number: 4398549
Abstract: An elongated, rectangular, substantially flat member integrally molded of a resilient, chemically inert, synthetic plastic material is provided with a centrally located transverse groove permitting the folding over of a cover portion thereof against a shallow enclosure portion which is open at the outer end. A synthetic plastic clamp bar pivotally secured at one side of the open end serves to clamp hair strands to be frosted, bleached or dyed against the inner surface of the container. The cover portion enables full enclosure of the hair strands during the process.

  • Patent number: 4325393
Abstract: A hair styling implement to facilitate the withdrawal of spaced groups of hair strands from the scalp for separate treatment with bleach or the like for "frosting" or "streaking" has a plurality of equi-distantly spaced, arcuate hook members movable between open and closed positions with respect to the bottom surface of the body of the implement by an operating slide member at its top. After thus hookingly engaging spaced groups of hair strands for treatment, the implement is lifted from the scalp to isolate the strand groups thus selected for bleach or dye treatment.

  • Patent number: 4233999
Abstract: An electrical hair curling iron comprising an elongated, tubular heating member and a clamp bar pivotally arranged with respect to the heating member for receiving and clamping hair tresses to be curled against the heating member includes motor driven mechanism for automatically turning the clamp bar about the heating member in one direction or the other, selectively, as controlled by actuating means on the handle. A non-heated, tooth-like projection at the outer end of the heating member serves to facilitate the selection of strands of hair to be applied between the heating member and the clamp bar for curling, the clamp bar being provided with short comb teeth for uniformly distributing the hair strands along the length of the heating member during a curling operation.
