Abstract: There is disclosed a tooth cleaning device especially designed and adapted for home use by the general public. The device employs an electric motor coupled by a direct gear drive to a shaft to which may be attached a variety of cleaning, polishing and massaging tips. The housing of the device is shaped to fit in the palm of the hand and is provided with an easily accessible switch. The device is so designed that it cannot be used to reach areas of the teeth and gums that must be treated professionally.
