  • Publication number: 20070054787
Abstract: An apparatus for lower back exercise comprises a support structure and a body support platform supported by the support structure. A pendulum having three segments is connected to the support structure. The pendulum has a first segment; pivotably connected to the support structure; a second segment that proceeds from the first segment at a first angle; and a third segment that proceeds from the second segment at a second angle, so that the center of mass of the pendulum is offset from the vertical. Weights may be connected to the third segment of the pendulum. There is a means, such as straps, connected to the pendulum, for engaging the legs of a user. The user exerts force with his legs to move the pendulum through a range of motion greater than 90 degrees.

  • Publication number: 20050272576
Abstract: An exercise apparatus comprises a frame having a base and an apex. A least one pivot is connected to the frame for supporting a swinging arm. The opposite end of the arm supports a seat for an exercising athlete, and optional weights. The frame supports a force plate opposed to the seat. The seat and the force plate are connected by elastic members, such as bands, that bias the seat toward the force plate. The athlete develops reversal strength by extending his legs to bound from the force plate, then stopping the resulting forward motion at a predetermined joint position before rebounding again.

  • Patent number: 4791541
Abstract: A single-piece lamp cage molded of plastic and adapted to be secured to a lamp socket to protect the lamp therein. The cage includes stationary and hinged cage sections connected to one another by a living hinge which permits the hinged section to be swung to an open position enabling changing of the lamp without need of removing the cage from the socket. A collar and a hinged clamp are molded integrally with the upper end of the stationary cage section and enable the cage to be installed on the socket without need of tools or hardware.
