Publication number: 20110197818Abstract: An enhanced pet bed comprises an outer cover having an inner volume, and at least one stuff sack that is preferably porous, for placement within the inner volume of the outer cover. While the inner stuff sack may be filled with a wide variety of stuffing items, the stuff sack is preferably filled with a plurality of items supplied by the owner, and may preferably inherently include a scent that is desirable or comforting to the intended animal, e.g. the scent of a known person or animal. For embodiments having permeable stuff sacks, the entire stuff sack assembly may preferably be laundered, e.g. washed and dried, as a unit, i.e. with the stuffing retained. Since the enhanced pet beds are typically provided without stuffing, the intended waste footprint of the is purchased product is significantly less than that of a conventional bed.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 18, 2010Publication date: August 18, 2011Inventors: Arthur Louis SIMON, Molly Elaine Mundt

Publication number: 20080259809Abstract: A data packet transmission network comprises a stream of packets of data sent by a first terminal passes in transit through at least one network equipment with which there is associated a stream measurement unit; wherein said first terminal and said measurement unit are connected to a collection unit. The measurement method comprising the following steps: the first terminal sends a specific stream of packets, each having a different determined size, the sizes being such that in a set of r packets, r being a positive integer less than or equal to the number of packets of the stream, there are not two subsets comprising the same number of packets and having the same cumulative total size; the measurement unit analyzes at least one packet and at most r packets of said stream passing in transit through the network equipment.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2005Publication date: October 23, 2008Applicant: Frandce TelecomInventors: Emile Stephan, Jean-Louis Simon, Yann Adam

Patent number: 7011253Abstract: To increase the resistance of plastic and/or plastic composite railroad ties tosliding within the ballast of the railroad bed, for example, sliding lengthwise (in the direction of the longitudinal axis of the tie) and sideways (in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis), ties with a textured surface which aids in anchoring the ties within the ballast of the railroad beds. In particular, the ties are provided with a pattern of indentations within a surface that contacts the ballast which increases the ties resistance to sliding. The pattern is molded into the ties so as to mechanically interact with the ballast (rocks) and provide as much resistance to sliding as possible, especially along the longitudinal axis of the tie but also in the direction perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.Type: GrantFiled: November 6, 2001Date of Patent: March 14, 2006Assignee: Polywood, Inc.Inventors: Thomas Nosker, Richard Renfree, James Kerstein, Louis Simon

Publication number: 20040013086Abstract: The device for access control between ATM networks, comprises signaling analysis means (4) and traffic analysis means (20, 21) linked to an ATM switch (3) configured so as to steer via the signaling analysis means, ATM signaling messages exchanged between internal and external ATM networks, and so as to steer via the traffic analysis means, traffic-bearing ATM cells exchanged between the internal and external networks within the framework of ATM connections established by means of said ATM signaling messages. Access control management means (7) dynamically configure the traffic analysis means (20, 21) as a function of an access control policy and of information gathered by the signaling analysis means (4) in such a way that the traffic analysis means filter each ATM cell in accordance with the access control policy.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 24, 2003Publication date: January 22, 2004Inventors: Jean-Louis Simon, Pierre Rolin, Olivier Paul, Maryline Laurent Maknavicius, Sylvain Gombault

Patent number: 6097303Abstract: A modular input/output (I/O) system for field wiring includes a plurality of base units into which electronics modules providing appropriate signal processing are plugged. A backplane in each base unit provides leads between the electronics module and associated terminals to which the field wiring is connected and also hosts a communications bus through which the electronics modules on serially connected base members communicate with a controller. Switching modules plugged into some of the base members selectively switch field signals applied to terminals for an associated electronics module to another electronics module for redundancy, or switch test signals into the associated electronics module in place of the field wiring signals. The test signals are generated by yet another of the electronics modules while still another electronics module generates control signals for the switching modules.Type: GrantFiled: April 30, 1997Date of Patent: August 1, 2000Assignee: Westinghouse Process Control, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth G. Lunz, Daniel Louis Simon

Patent number: 5068971Abstract: A portable coordinate measuring machine has an adjustment mechanism that allows fine movement of the base into alignment with reference lines or planes. The machine has a heavy base pivotally mounted at one end on a first support and slidably mounted at the other end on a second support. The second support has a pair of arcuate slots that receive a pair of pins connected to the base member. A lead screw is connected to the base member and threadedly engaged with a nut. The nut is pivotally connected to the second support. A user turns a handle or wheel on the lead screw to cause the base to pivot about the pivot point of the first support. This pivoting motion effects fine adjustment of the base's position to align it with reference lines or planes.Type: GrantFiled: March 23, 1990Date of Patent: December 3, 1991Assignee: Simco Industries, Inc.Inventor: Louis Simon

Patent number: 4235490Abstract: A container for storing and selectively presenting video tape cassettes of substantially equal thickness and depth and either a first or a second height includes a longitudinally extending box having longitudinally extending rear, bottom and top walls and transversely extending end walls defining a storage area having depth in excess of the depth of the cassettes. Partitions are provided which define storage locations, each of which has a longitudinal extent slightly in excess of the thickness of the cassettes, with the thickness and spacing of the partitions being such that when cassettes are placed into two adjacent storage locations, the space between them is insufficient to accommodate a human finger.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1978Date of Patent: November 25, 1980Assignee: Le-Bo Products Company, Inc.Inventors: Gary M. Schwartz, Louis Simon

Patent number: 4117274Abstract: A privacy circuit for use in a key telephone station set is disclosed. Using only a single relay, the privacy circuit operates to exclude the user from a busy central office line while allowing the user to gain access to an idle line. The privacy circuit is positive acting and cannot be circumvented by manipulating the keys and/or switchhook while at the same time allowing service to continue during a local power failure. Additional circuitry is provided to allow conference connections among key telephone sets equipped with privacy circuits.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 1973Date of Patent: September 26, 1978Assignee: Bell Telephone Laboratories, IncorporatedInventors: Thomas Burt Cannon, Robert Forcier Metz, James Louis Simon
