  • Patent number: 7925884
Abstract: A method of verifying a carved seal includes detecting a pressure on a carved seal stamp is detected through pins extending from a face of the carved stamp steal. It is determined if the pressure indicates that the seal is being pressed. A fingerprint of a user of the seal is read when it is determined that the seal is being pressed. An image of an object being stamped by the seal is photographed if the pressure indicates that the seal is being pressed. A time that the seal is being pressed is determined if the pressure indicates that the seal is being pressed. A location of the seal is determined if the pressure indicates that the seal is being pressed. An audio note is recorded if the pressure indicates that the seal is being pressed. The fingerprint, time, and location is associated with the photograph of the image of the object being stamped by the seal. The information is encoded into a face of the seal to indicate that the fingerprint was determined to belong to an authorized user.

  • Patent number: 7841501
Abstract: A cover or boot for use in conjunction with the nail advancement mechanism of a fastener-driving tool is disclosed. The cover or boot covers external surface portions of the nail advancement mechanism of the fastener-driving tool so as to prevent a significant accumulation of dust particles from effectively collecting upon and entering the piston-cylinder assembly of the nail advancement mechanism and thereby operatively interfering with the reciprocal movements of the piston of the piston-cylinder assembly of the nail advancement mechanism whereby the operative functioning of the nail advancement mechanism of the fastener-driving tool would otherwise be adversely affected.

  • Patent number: 7802500
Abstract: A pneumatic fastener driving tool is configured to drive a threaded fastener using both linear and rotational motion. The tool allows a fastener to first be driven linearly, without rotation, through a surface material and into a substrate material, preferably to a depth that causes the fastener to at least pierce the substrate material. The tool then rotates the threaded fastener and causes it to fully engage the substrate material, thereby fastening the surface material to the substrate material. The tool has sufficient linear force to drive a fastener into relatively hard substrate materials, such as steel studs, and has a stationary air motor assembly to reduce recoil generated during the driving process. The tool further comprises a gear reducer assembly that uses a compound planetary gear in order to reduce the overall length of the tool.

  • Publication number: 20100083938
Abstract: A fuel tank vent system includes a carbon canister and an engine fuel system coupled to the carbon canister. Fuel vapor discharged from a fuel tank included in the engine fuel system flows during certain conditions into the carbon canister to encounter charcoal stored in the carbon canister. Hydrocarbon material associated with the discharged fuel vapor is captured by the charcoal and a stream of cleaned vapor is discharged from the carbon canister to the atmosphere.

  • Publication number: 20100025315
Abstract: A filter medium for strainers used in the emergency sump of a nuclear power plant ECCS. The filter medium is employed with double wall, concentric tube type strainer modules. The filter medium is preferably constructed of a woven or knitted stainless steel wire material and is shaped in a cylinder so that it can be inserted between two concentric strainer walls, concentric tube type strainer in such a manner that water that passes through the strainer must pass through and be filtered by the filter medium before the water can be pumped to the reactor core. The filter medium is inserted through the bottom of the strainer module and is held in place by an x-shaped retainer. The filter creates varied approach velocity of the fluid and results in non-uniform fibrous debris accumulation on the strainer, insuring acceptable strainer debris hydraulic head loss.

  • Publication number: 20080026796
Abstract: An antenna system for shared operation has three antenna stacks each with two mutually orthogonal polarisations (+45 degree and ?45 degree). It is for use with multiple base stations. It combines on to a single feeder signals associated with like polarisation and with the base stations, and separates on to different feeders signals associated with different polarisations. This applies both to transmit and receive signals passing between antennas and base stations. Signal combining is achieved by band pass filtering. Each base station transmits and receives via a respective antenna stack, and so each can have an individual angle of electrical tilt. Two, three or four feeders may be used to route signals between antennas and base stations. With four feeders, transmit and receive signals and differing polarisation associations are separable, reducing intermodulation products. With two feeders, transmit and receive signals with like polarisation associations are combined.

  • Publication number: 20070080886
Abstract: A phased array antenna system with controllable electrical tilt generates two signals V2a and V2b with variable relative delay therebetween. The signals are converted into antenna element drive signals by a power distribution network. The network splits each of the two signals V2a and V2b into three signal components. Pairs of components of different signals are input respective hybrid coupling devices (hybrids), which provide vector sums and differences of their inputs and act as phase-to-power converters. Their outputs are distributed between further hybrids, which act as power-to-phase converters and provide antenna element drive signals with phase varying both with element array position and also with the variable relative delay between the two signals V2a and V2b. Antenna electrical tilt is therefore controllable by altering a single relative delay.
