    Abstract: A multifunctional seating assembly for a vehicle is disclosed herein. The seating assembly includes a base slidably coupled to the vehicle. A storage compartment is defined by the base. A seat is pivotably coupled to the base and is operable to pivot about a first pivot axis that is proximate to a seating assembly-forward end of the seat from a first seat position to a second seat position. A seatback is pivotably coupled to the seat and is operable to pivot about a second pivot axis that is proximate to a seating assembly-rearward end of the seat from a first seatback position to a second seatback position. Movement of the seat from the first seat position to the second seat position provides access to the storage compartment defined by the base.
