  • Publication number: 20220039300
Abstract: One or more embodiments can comprise a method, including detecting, by a power converter comprising a processor, a feedback signal level based on based on an output condition of an error amplifier. The method can further comprise, based on the feedback signal level, setting, by the power converter, a combination of a switching frequency and a magnetizing current level, wherein the combination is selected to achieve an electromagnetic interference (EMI) level for the power converter that satisfies a first condition.

  • Patent number: 11063589
Abstract: One or more embodiments of a power circuit can comprise a capacitor in series between a power source and a gate of a transistor, to receive a driver output of a first voltage from the power source. The power circuit can further comprise a first diode in parallel between the power source and the gate of the transistor. In some embodiments, when the driver output is present and exceeds a first breakdown voltage of a second diode, and the second diode enables flow of current from the first cathode to the ground, resulting in the capacitor being negatively charged up to a second voltage corresponding to excess of the first voltage over the first breakdown voltage. In additional embodiments, after the capacitor is at least partially charged, when the driver output is not present, the capacitor discharges a negative current based on the negative charging of the capacitor up to the second voltage.

  • Patent number: 6201376
Abstract: An apparatus for establishing an operating parameter for a power supply device having an output includes: (a) a first signal source; (b) a second signal source; (c) a third signal source; and (d) a state device. The first signal source is controllable for generating a programming signal. The second signal source generates a load indicating signal and is connected with the power supply. The third signal source generates an offset signal. The state device has a first input and a second input and changes state when the first input has a predetermined relationship with the second input. The first input is determined by relative values of the programming signal and the offset signal. The second input is related with the output. The power supply device shuts down when the state device changes state.

  • Patent number: 6130529
Abstract: In a switching power supply generating at least a first output voltage and a second output voltage, the second output voltage, being of lower potential is applied to a linear regulator, the power supply further including a storage capacitor on the first output, a holdover circuit includes a comparator circuit for monitoring the first output voltage and for generating an output signal when the first output voltage decreases below predetermined value. A switch is connected to the storage capacitor, the comparator circuit, and the linear regulator. The switch is activated by the comparator output signal and applies the voltage stored in the storage capacitor to the linear regulator. A clamp circuit is connected to the switch for limiting the magnitude of the voltage from the storage capacitor to the linear regulator when the switch is activated.
