  • Patent number: 8774082
Abstract: An Ethernet Digital Storage (EDS) Card and satellite transmission system is provided for receiving, storing, and transmitting files. A data stream is received and may be stored at the receiver or routed as TCP/IP packets. The EDS Card includes an HTTP server. A DHCP on the EDS card provides dynamic configuration of the card's IP address. The EDS card includes a PPP and modem processor. The EDS card includes an event scheduler. A command processor keeps a built-in log of audio spots played. Files may be transmitted from the EDS card via an M&C port, an Ethernet port, or an auxiliary RS-232 port. Files may be received from a data stream from a satellite, an M&C port, an Ethernet port, or an auxiliary RS-232 port. The EDS card also provides time shifting and may be used without a satellite feed as an HTTP-controlled router with storage.

  • Patent number: 8284774
Abstract: An Ethernet Digital Storage (EDS) Card and satellite transmission system is provided for receiving, storing, and transmitting files including video, audio, text, and multimedia files, especially files received via satellite transmission. In a preferred embodiment, a satellite system includes a receiver using the EDS Card. A data stream is received by the receiver and then may be stored at the receiver or directly routed as TCP/IP packets. Received or stored data files may be multicast. The EDS Card also includes an HTTP server for web access to the card parameters and any files stored on the card. A DHCP on the EDS card provides dynamic configuration of the card's IP address. The EDS card also includes a PPP and modem processor for file transmission, reception, and affidavit collection. The EDS card also includes an event scheduler for triggering files at a predetermined time or at an external prompt.

  • Patent number: 7650620
Abstract: The present specification discloses a multimedia distribution system and method. The system and method has a producer workstation, a delivery server, a high-bandwidth one-way satellite transmission system, a terrestrial two-way communication system (including use of the Internet), a plurality of satellite affiliate workstations, and a plurality of terrestrial client workstations. The delivery server receives digital information (envelopes and associates media files) from the producer workstations for delivery of the information to the affiliate and client workstations addressed in the envelope. The affiliate and client workstations provide the delivery server with confirmation of delivery of each received envelope and its associated files. In the absence of receipt of confirmation of delivery, the delivery server re-sends the unconfirmed envelope and associated files to the non-confirming affiliate or client workstation by a two-way terrestrial connection or by a manual system, such as a dub-and-ship service.
