Abstract: A low-water element safety control for use with a steam generator. A steam cooker having a plurality of cooking compartments includes a steam-generator pressure vessel. An electric element within the vessel heats the water, causing steam to be directed to the compartment. A low-water sensor within the vessel is connected to a relay coil with contacts interrupting the flow of electrical energy to the heating element when water is beneath the level of the sensor. A second sensor located externally of the vessel and within a coupling in fluid communication with the vessel serves as a backup safety device and is connected to a second relay coil also having contacts interrupting the flow of electrical energy to the heating element when the water level is below the outside sensor.
