Patent number: 10125592Abstract: Improved methods and systems for treating subterranean formations using a sub-surface mixing system are disclosed. The disclosed system includes a well head and a first flow line that directs a blender fluid from a blender to the well head. A second flow line directs a Liquefied Petroleum Gas stream to the well head. A static mixer is positioned downhole and is fluidically coupled to the well head. The well head directs the blender fluid to the static mixer through a first flow path and it directs the Liquefied Petroleum Gas stream from the well head to the static mixer through a second flow path. The static mixer then mixes the blender fluid and the Liquefied Petroleum Gas stream.Type: GrantFiled: August 8, 2013Date of Patent: November 13, 2018Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services, Inc.Inventors: Leonard R. Publication number: 20140054050Abstract: Disclosed is a well configuration and method of forming the configuration and producing hydrocarbons from the configuration. In one embodiment, multiple fractures are formed from a wellbore in a subterranean hydrocarbon gas formation. One fracture is filled with material to create a flow barrier that modifies the flow pattern of at least one fluid within the subterranean hydrocarbon formation. Also disclosed is the process of injecting a Dew Point altering gas into the formation on one side of the barrier and producing a mixture of formation gas and injected gas from the fractures on the other side of the barrier.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 24, 2012Publication date: February 27, 2014Applicant: HALLIBURTON ENERGY SERVICES, INC.Inventors: Sharlene Dawn Lindsay, Jennifer Lyn Williamson, Loyd Eddie East, JR.

Patent number: 8210257Abstract: A well bore in a subterranean formation includes a signaling subsystem communicably coupled to injection tools installed in the well bore. Each injection tool controls a flow of fluid into an interval of the formation based on a state of the injection tool. Stresses in the subterranean formation are altered by creating fractures in the formation. Control signals are sent from the well bore surface through the signaling subsystem to the injection tools to modify the states of one or more of the injection tools. Fluid is injected into the stress-altered subterranean formation through the injection tools to create a fracture network in the subterranean formation. In some implementations, the state of each injection tool can be selectively and repeatedly manipulated based on signals transmitted from the well bore surface. In some implementations, stresses are modified and/or the fracture network is created along a substantial portion and/or the entire length of a horizontal well bore.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2010Date of Patent: July 3, 2012Assignee: Halliburton Energy Services Inc.Inventors: Ronald Glen Dusterhoft, Loyd Eddie East, Mohamed Y.
