  • Patent number: 6722906
Abstract: This invention provides an electrical connector which includes an insulated housing, a plurality of conductive terminals, and a cover body. The cover body is moved by a user between a first position, a second position, and a third position relative to the insulated housing so that electrical contacts of an electronic card and contact portions of the conductive terminals are pressed against one another when the cover body is moved from the first position to the second position. When the cover body is moved from the second position to the third position, the electronic card moves simultaneously with the cover body such that the electrical contacts of the electronic card and the contact portions of the conductive terminals contact frictionally each other through a short distance relative movement to wipe out dust or contaminants. This increases the reliability of their electrical connection.
