  • Publication number: 20230356771
Abstract: Control systems and methods for an electric power steering (EPS) system of a vehicle include obtaining, by a controller of the vehicle and from a set of sensors, a set of parameters of an electric motor of the EPS system, the EPS system further comprising a steering column and a steering wheel, and controlling, by the controller, the EPS system by based on the set of measured parameters of the electric motor, performing vector type recursive least squares estimation (RLSE) of a plurality of lumped EPS parameters including applying a variable forgetting factor, generating steering angle torque commands based on the estimated plurality of lumped EPS parameters, and controlling the electric motor of the EPS based on the generated steering angle torque commands for more accurate control of a trajectory of the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 10884425
Abstract: One aspect of the disclosure provides a method of maneuvering a vehicle in reverse for attachment to a trailer. The method includes: determining, at a computing device in communication with the neural network, a selected trailer in proximity to the vehicle; detecting at least one user input gesture performed by a user and captured in at least one image from at least one camera on the vehicle; selected a maneuver command for the vehicle based on the detected gesture; and executing the maneuver to move the vehicle from the initial position toward a final position adjacent the trailer.

  • Publication number: 20200209870
Abstract: A disclosed vehicle control system includes a controller disposed within a defined closed area that stores a map with location information for objects within the defined closed area. The controller includes a transceiver for wirelessly transmitting the map in a form usable by navigation systems of vehicles within the defined closed area. A sensor assembly disposed within the defined closed area monitors a location and path of vehicles within the defined closed area and communicate information regarding the location and path of the vehicles to the controller. The controller updates the map responsive to changes in a location of vehicles and other objects within the defined closed area and transmits an updated map to vehicles within the defined closed area.
