  • Patent number: 5624229
Abstract: A spiral housing with a spiral cross-section for a turbomachine, in which a disk diffuser with an upstream annular disk space is asymmetrical to the spiral cross-section. This spiral cross-section has a base circle of substantially constant diameter. The spiral cross-section also has a tongue region and a region adjacent to the tongue with circular spiral cross-sections extending to where an outside diameter of the spiral cross-section equals a specific diameter and the circular spiral cross-sections continue thereafter to increase in cross-section only axially.

  • Patent number: 4969803
Abstract: The invention includes a compressor unit with a connected drive by a high-frequency motor for compressing gases and which is suitable for great ocean depths and for natural gas conveyance from the ocean floor where the low temperature obtaining in the water is effectively utilized. The compressor unit is supported by magnetic bearings in a housing. The compressor includes a plurality of compressor stages connected by pipe lines which form a surface cooler on the suction side arranged around the housing.

  • Patent number: 4723781
Abstract: A liquid-sealed shaft seal for sealing the lead-through between an inner space and an outer space of a shaft with feed bores for a sealing liquid which is supplied at higher pressure than the pressure in the inner space. The seal includes partial seal gaps extending on both sides of these feed bores, and includes an inner partial seal gap in the form of a threaded shaft seal with recycling toward the sealing liquid feed. A disk with a larger outside diameter than the diameter of the inner partial seal gap is placed between the inner and outer partial seal gaps, and forms a pump chamber with the seal housing. A radial pressure increase of the supplied sealing liquid occurs in the pump chamber at higher speeds of rotation, and bores that are connected to a pressure chamber open into its radially outer area.
