  • Patent number: 9688260
Abstract: A vehicle includes an air compressor system for supplying compressed air to an air consuming circuit, wherein the vehicle includes an arrangement for determining that the vehicle is coasting. The compressor system is controllable to deliver compressed air at a first power rate and at least at a second higher power rate, and it is controlled to deliver compressed air at the second higher power rate when it is determined that the vehicle is coasting. A method for operating an air compressor system for such a vehicle is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20160186729
Abstract: A renewable power recovery system for locally generating electric power, particularly associated with an overhead or underwater cable or with an overhead or underwater pipe. This system includes a turbine having a substantially cylindrical external casing rotatably mounted on the cable or on the pipe by way of mounting members and an alternator cinematically connected or integrated to the turbine. The mounting members and the turbine are made of two severable portions, provided with assembly elements to allow their assembly once they have been positioned on the cable or on the pipe.

  • Patent number: 8256388
Abstract: A nozzle is adapted to direct a jet of oil under pressure on an internal combustion engine. It has a variable outlet section, and it is provided with mechanical arrangement adapted to control its outlet section on the basis of the pressure of a fluid under pressure provided to this mechanical arrangement, independently of the oil going through the outlet of the nozzle. In the lubrication system an auxiliary line is provided with first proportional means controlling oil flow toward a nozzle. A control line connects a main line or the auxiliary line, upstream of the first proportional means, to a mechanical arrangement adapted to control the outlet section of the nozzle. The control line is provided with a second proportional arrangement controlling the pressure of oil delivered to the mechanical arrangement. The nozzle can be used as a piston cooling nozzle to direct oil toward a piston of an internal combustion engine.

  • Publication number: 20120060775
Abstract: An energy recovery system includes a main line capable of carrying the exhaust gases of an engine, at least a first and a second thermoelectric devices capable of producing electricity by Seebeck effect, the second thermoelectric device being located downstream from the first thermoelectric device, the thermoelectric devices each having an optimum temperature range and a highest admissible temperature. The optimum temperature range and the highest admissible temperature of the second thermoelectric device are lower than the optimum temperature range and the highest admissible temperature of the first thermoelectric device, respectively. The system further includes a controller for controlling the flow rate of the exhaust gases passing against the second thermoelectric device, in order to prevent the second thermoelectric device from being exposed to temperatures exceeding its highest admissible temperature.

  • Publication number: 20080308353
Abstract: This lubrication system includes a pump feeding a main line which provides oil to a support interface for a crank shaft of oil engine and an auxiliary line connected to at least one piston cooling jet. The pump is a variable flow pump controlled on the basis of oil pressure in the main line. A proportional means is mounted on the auxiliary line. This means is adapted to control oil flow in the auxiliary line depending on the working conditions of the engine, e.g. oil temperature, torque to be delivered or rotational speed of the engine.
