  • Patent number: 9298661
Abstract: A docking assembly for docking a handheld device thereto is provided. The docking assembly includes a cradle for receiving the handheld device, and a handle adjacent to the cradle and reciprocally movable inwardly and outwardly relative to the cradle between an open and a position. The handle has a handle interface facing a corresponding device interface of the handheld device when the handheld device is placed in the cradle. The handle interface has a pair of alignment projections and a handle data connector connectable to a device data connector of the handheld device, the alignment projections being engageable with complimentary alignment cavities of the handheld device. The docking assembly further includes a displacement mechanism configured such that, as the handle moves toward the closed position, the alignment projections progressively engage the alignment cavities and guide the handle and device data connectors toward each other for connection therebetween.

  • Publication number: 20140176690
Abstract: A magnification system which allows viewing a magnified representation of an object is provided. The magnification system includes two main components: a handheld device and a base station. The handheld device is provided with a camera module, a processing unit and, optionally, a display unit. The base station has a frame structure and, optionally, a monitor. The frame structure includes a cradle for receiving the handheld device. The handheld device can function as a stand-alone device and can be carried around for use outside of the home or office or, generally, away from the base station, or it can be mounted on the base station where images of documents or other objects disposed on a workspace of the frame structure can be acquired by the camera module of the handheld device and shown on the monitor through the processing unit.

  • Patent number: 7475982
Abstract: A combination includes eyewear, such as glasses, with a removable vapor barrier attachment. The eyewear includes a frame and lenses configured for protecting a user's eyes. The vapor barrier attachment is removably attached to the eyewear, and includes a base member removably attachable to the eyewear frame, and flap members extending from the base member. The flap members have a shape and length so as to extend longitudinally below the eyewear lenses. The flap members are attached to the eyewear along at least a portion of the length of the flap members and have a resilient sealing edge that conforms against the wearer's face to inhibit exhaled air from passing between the lenses and the wearer's face.

  • Patent number: 6994434
Abstract: The eyewear described comprises a lens having, at opposite lateral sides thereof, a pair of detachable ear stems which are adapted to move from an inwardly folded position to an outwardly ear contacting position. The lens displays, at each lateral side, an opening and a stem connecting portion that defines a hinge element forming an integral part of the lens. The proximal end portion of the ear stem defines a U-shaped recess which is engageable with the hinge element. The recess is formed by a pair of resilient branches which, together with a constriction at the entry of the recess, enables a snap-in engagement and a snap-out disengagement of the ear stem to and from the lens. No additional component is required for this three-piece eyewear.
