The heat exchanger is a coil with an upstream end coupled to the combustion chamber and a downstream end mounted through the upper part of the canister. Maintenance is enhanced by having the lower part of the evaporation tank or canister move downwardly to expose the combustion chamber and the heat exchanger coils. The coils are subject to thermal shock or relatively rapid thermal expansion and contraction which causes scale, adhered thereon, to be released and broken off. A high degree of control and modulation is achieved because the radiant burner is configured for modulated operation from a blue flame mode through a radiant mode.

    Abstract: The present invention is a radiant heat deflector assembly for radiating heat on a surface, wherein the assembly includes; a radiant heat source radiating direct emissions, and at least one radiant heat deflector spaced from the heat source. The heat source is so positioned and configured to include radiating direct emissions onto the deflector, the deflector being so positioned, configured and sized as to reflect radiant emissions onto a surface thereby heating the surface. Preferably the heat source adapted to radiate useful direct emissions upwardly towards the deflector and downwardly toward the surface or onto a second deflector such that both direct emissions and reflected emissions heat the surface. Preferably the heat source including an emitter for producing direct radiant emissions and the emitter producing useful direct emissions from both a top surface and a bottom surface of the emitter such that both direct emissions and reflected emissions reach the surface.

    Abstract: A multi-functional fireplace includes a housing for a removable firebox, a multiple burner assembly, a heat exchanger, a ventilator, an air conditioner, and an air exchanger/heat recovery unit. The firebox is removable by various ways from the housing allowing easy access to the internal contents of the fireplace. The multiple burner assembly can be a double burner assembly. One burner is an ambience burner for providing a decorative flame within the firebox and the other burner is the principal heating burner and can be positioned within or outside of the fireplace. A controller may also be linked to the various components of the fireplace to receive data therefrom and for control thereof. A sensor linked to the control can be placed at a heat outlet in order for the controller to detect temperature and accelerate the ventilator if need be. A bypass is also used to avoid cool air from the air conditioner from heating up when the decorative flame is lit.
