  • Patent number: 7240440
Abstract: The system dries pasty or powdery products such as sludge from wastewater purifying stations, the drying occurring in a chamber receiving the products to be dried. The system includes a greenhouse with translucent or transparent walls erected on a slab upon which a bed of products to be dried is deposited. At least one wind generator is provided for generating energy which is converted to heat that is delivered to the slab upon which the bed of products to be dried is spread.

  • Publication number: 20050246919
Abstract: The invention concerns an installation for drying pasty or powdery products such as in particular waste and more particularly sludge derived from wastewater purifying stations, in a chamber receiving the products to be dried and which is provided with means for turning over and driving forward said products. Said installation is characterized in that it comprises a greenhouse with translucent or transparent walls (1), erected on a slab or floor (2) whereon is deposited the bed (3) of products to be dried, said slab being equipped with means for turning over and driving forward the sludge and several wind machines (4) generating energy which is degraded in the form of heat which is restored in the slab (2) whereon is spread the bed of products to be dried (3).

  • Patent number: 5207907
Abstract: Apparatus for dehydrating sludge originating from water purification stations, comprising a draining grid part positioned above a pressing-belt filter part, and a device for washing the grid wherein the device is positioned above the grid, so as to limit the drop height of the flocculated sludge between the grid and the belt, thus avoiding deflocculation of the sludge between the thickening stage and the dehydration stage, the washing of the grid being performed concurrently with the movement of the sludge on the grid.

  • Patent number: 4990246
Abstract: The present invention relates to a separator for two liquids which are not miscible, consisting of a cylindrical casing (1) in which there are active capacities (9, 10) and passive capacities (8, 35), the passive capacities (8, 35) being disposed at each of the ends of the direction of circulation (FF) of the liquid in the cylinder and serving either as a tranquilizing zone or as a decantation zone or as a buffer zone, at least two active capacities (9, 10) being connected by a common skimmer disposed in the center of the cylindrical casing (1), the active capacities (9, 10) being disposed between the passive capacities (8, 35) and being provided with a rotor-stator assembly (13, 14) adapted to carry out separation by induced air.

  • Patent number: 4681680
Abstract: Device allowing the selective and continuous recovery of hydrocarbons present in the form of a sheet or nappe at the surface of an aqueous medium. It is essentially constituted by a roller covered with a hydrophobic and oleophilic material 5 partially surrounded by a mobile recipient 6 provided with evacuation means of the aqueous medium 52. This device is particularly well adapted to the deoiling of a decanting basin.

  • Patent number: 4191651
Abstract: A separator suitable for the separation of a first liquid of relatively lower specific gravity and a second liquid of relatively higher specific gravity from a liquid mixture containing both liquids, the liquids being mutually immiscible, the separator comprising an inlet for introducing the mixture into a first separation zone so constructed and arranged as to promote the separation by gravity of a substantial part of the first liquid from the mixture, a first liquid outlet for the discharge of separated first liquid from the separator, a second liquid outlet for the discharge of separated second liquid from the separator, means for causing first liquid separated in the first separation zone to pass to the first liquid outlet, means for causing the remaining liquid mixture containing a minor proportion of the first liquid and a major proportion of the second liquid to pass towards the second liquid outlet along a flow path including a part extending downwardly through a second separation zone partially fille
