  • Publication number: 20240012388
Abstract: An energy management system or plugin thereto includes a graphical user interface that displays visual elements corresponding to at least one manufacturing component and an energy management module instantiated in the graphical user interface. The energy management module is enabled to receive and display energy consumption status information from the manufacturing component and can control and modify the energy consumption of the manufacturing component by instructions sent from the energy management system to the component. The instructions can comprise a throttle instruction, an orchestrate instruction, or a disabled instruction which can be configured as predetermined presets corresponding to a desired energy protocol. The energy management module can also be used to group or sequence the components to distribute energy consumption to avoid exceeding the energy capacity of the manufacturing setting.

  • Publication number: 20230401041
Abstract: An integrated development environment or plugin thereto includes a source code generation module configured to automatically generate source code to expose commands for automation controls components. A graphical user interface has visual components that represent automation controls components to be interfaced with one another, and which are linked to the source code generation module. The integrated development environment enables modification of the component interfaces so that a plurality of event handlers can be implemented without having to write or edit any source code. The instantiation of a component into a project using the integrated development environment automates the generation of the source code that captures and broadcasts signals from the component to a communication channel that is declared on demand through the interface. A web application automatically creates the graphs or tables to represent the telemetry data for each signal received from the controller.

  • Publication number: 20230393547
Abstract: An integrated human-machine execution system and related method for manufacturing automation, includes a computer, a graphical user interface, one or more programmable input/outputs, one or more human-machine interface components, and a network adapter. The computer is enabled to execute all necessary software to operate the functions of the integrated system and orchestrate the execution of one or more automated manufacturing operations. In some examples, data updates are event-based instead of time-based such that data updates transmitted by the system when data value changes initiate an event, independently of time elapsed since occurrence of a prior event. The system can be configured to connect to an external and discrete programmable logic controller attached an automation component and instructions to the automation component are instantiated at the human-machine execution system, obviating the need for programming at the programmable logic controllers.

  • Patent number: 11412217
Abstract: Embodiments herein include an image manager that provides for image compression by rearranging an order of blocks from one or more images and then sorting and writing those blocks into one or more different images. This technique enables using a high-level of image compression to reduce a relatively large amount of pixels to a common subset of values than would ordinarily be possible with the original image(s). This can include extracting a plurality of blocks from a graphical digital image file. Each block from the graphical digital image file can be a group of pixels. The image manager analyzes each block to produce a corresponding variation value for each of the blocks, indicating a level of variation of pixel data within a respective block. The image manager sorts blocks according to the variation values, and can apply a level of image compression to each respective block, based on the variation value and/or average color of each respective block, to compress each respective block.

  • Patent number: 5158738
Abstract: A method is disclosed for controlling a PWR comprising a plurality of control bars selectively and individually positioned in the reactor core. The current value of an operating parameter indicative of the power level (for instance the average temperature of the core) is measured as well as the current positions of the control bars and the axial power offset in the core. When the difference between the current value of the operating parameter and the set value exceeds a predetermined deadband interval or the axial power offset in the core exceeds a reference value, the amount by which the reactivity of the core should be modified is computed. Through a simulation process on a model of said reactor, it is determined which ones of the bars may be moved and which are the amounts of travel to be given to the bars for bringing the difference within the deadband and the offset toward the reference value while minimizing a core enthalpy increase factor.
