  • Publication number: 20120103831
Abstract: A method for membrane permeabilization of biological cells contained in a product is disclosed. According to one aspect, the method is applied in a treatment device including at least one treatment chamber emitting a pulsed electric field. According to another aspect, the method includes supplying the treatment device with a product including biological cells at a predetermined supply flow rate from a supply unit, introducing the product including the biological cells into the treatment chamber at an introduction flow rate, treating the product introduced into the chamber with a pulsed electric field, and reintroducing the treated product, at a predetermined feedback flow rate at a point that is downstream from the supply unit. According to some aspects, the introduction flow rate includes the feedback flow rate and the supply flow rate.

  • Patent number: 7854851
Abstract: This invention discloses the treatment of effluents in which a flow of the said effluents is subjected to a pulsed electric field that modifies physicochemical and biologic characteristics of the medium, this modification being used during a solid/liquid separation operation, of the settlement or membrane filtration type. The solid/liquid separation operation (13, 14, 15) and the application of a pulsed electric field (12) are operations carried out at different locations along the effluent flow. The pulsed electric field has voltage value, current value, pulse repetition frequency and voltage front shape characteristics chosen such that the required effluent treatment can be achieved as a function of the locations at which these membrane filtration operations are carried out and a pulsed electric field is applied.

  • Patent number: 6387341
Abstract: This invention relates to a method of manufacturing a product based on a simple or mixed metal oxide, or silicon oxide, from a charge of one or more precursors comprising one or more organic precursors. These oxides can be, for example, oxides of Ti, Al, Mg, Th, Si, Ba, Bc or Zr etc. The method comprises bringing the charge of organo-metallic precursors into contact with a reaction medium that comprises supercritical C02, at a temperature of from 31 to 100° C. and a supercritical pressure of from 3×107 to 5×107 Pa, in order to form from the precursor, a product based on a simple or mixed metal oxide, or silicon oxide, from the reaction medium by reducing the pressure of the supercritical C02 to a pressure lower than the supercritical pressure.
