Abstract: Aspects of the invention are directed towards a system and a method automated tracking of item/s. One or more embodiments of the invention describe a method comprising steps of detecting location of an item by a first communication module or a second communication module, the item coupled to an electronic circuit and receiving data corresponding to one or more parameters associated with the item. The method further comprises step of transmitting the location along with the data corresponding to the parameters associated with the item to a server by the first communication module when the item is placed inside a receptacle or by the second communication module when the item is placed outside the receptacle.
