  • Patent number: 11800478
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a wireless communication device may identify a scaling factor associated with determining a periodicity of backhaul physical random access channel (PRACH) resources. The wireless communication device may determine, based at least in part on the scaling factor, the periodicity of the backhaul PRACH resources. The periodicity of the backhaul PRACH resources may be extended as compared to a periodicity of access PRACH resources. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11800515
Abstract: In a channel occupancy time (COT), a scheduling entity can transmit a first downlink (DL) transmission burst to a scheduled entity, and receive an uplink (UL) transmission burst from the scheduled entity. The scheduling entity can determine whether the scheduled entity performed a type 1 or type 2 channel access procedure for the UL transmission burst. A scheduled entity can use a first type of channel access procedure to initiate a first COT on a communication channel and request a network access node to perform a second type of channel access procedure in a next DL transmission burst. A network access node can receive a message from a scheduled entity, wherein the message comprises a control indication requesting the network access node to perform a first type of channel access procedure in a next DL transmission burst.

  • Publication number: 20230337086
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a child node in a wireless multi-hop network may receive a cost parameter from a neighbor node in the wireless multi-hop network, wherein the cost parameter indicates a cost, due to an operating mode of the neighbor node, of selecting the neighbor node as a target node for a handover procedure, a cell selection procedure, or a cell reselection procedure. The child node may perform the handover procedure, the cell selection procedure, or the cell reselection procedure based at least in part on the cost parameter. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11792804
Abstract: Aspects described herein relate to resource allocation in an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) system. In an example, the aspects include receiving, by a wireless node, an indication of not-available (NA) resources of a parent node, the NA resources corresponding to a first set of one or more resources configured at the parent node as being unavailable for uplink and downlink communications between the parent node and the wireless node, wherein the indication of NA resources of the parent node comprises an invalid time division duplex (TDD)-uplink-downlink configuration; and refraining, by the wireless node, from communicating with the parent node within the NA resources based on the indication of NA resources of the parent node.

  • Patent number: 11792825
Abstract: Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a child node may receive a message, from a serving or neighboring cell, that includes an indication of an intended time division duplex (TDD) configuration for the serving or neighboring cell. The indication may include downlink and uplink indicators for at least one slot used within the intended TDD configuration. Accordingly, the child node may determine a symbol to use within a TDD configuration for the child node, based at least in part on receiving the message. Numerous other aspects are provided.

  • Patent number: 11785526
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that support resource utilization based event triggering. A wireless node in a wireless communications system may establish a connection with a core network via a path that includes one or more relay nodes. The wireless node may determine that a network load associated with one or more paths between the wireless node and the core network has changed, or that a difference between two or more network loads of different paths has changed. Based on such a determination, the wireless node may transmit a report to the network. In some cases, the network may receive the report from the wireless node, and may initiate a path change based on the report.

  • Patent number: 11770861
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. For example, a first wireless node (e.g., an integrated access and backhaul (IAB) node) may receive, from a parent base station, system information that is indicative of two random access procedure configurations. The first random access procedure configuration may be for a two-step random access procedure and the second random access procedure configuration may be different from the first random access procedure configuration (for example, an IAB-specific, a user equipment (UE)-specific, or a four-step random access procedure). The first wireless node may determine to use the first random access procedure configuration (e.g., for establishing a wireless backhaul connection with the parent base station) and may perform the two-step random access procedure with the parent base station accordingly.

  • Patent number: 11758523
Abstract: Aspects relate to an integrated access backhaul (IAB)-Distributed Unit (DU) resource configuration framework for paired (e.g., frequency division duplex (FDD)) spectrum. Two DU resource configurations per cell may be supported for paired spectrum, including one for a first spectrum band (e.g., a downlink frequency band) and another for a second spectrum band (e.g., an uplink frequency band) of the paired spectrum. Each DU resource configuration may include a respective symbol pattern of symbol types (e.g., downlink (DL), uplink (UL), flexible) for a plurality of slots, as well as a corresponding availability attribute for each symbol type (e.g., hard, soft, or not available). A DU of an IAB node in an IAB network may receive the two DU resource configurations for the paired spectrum from a central unit (CU) of an IAB donor node in the IAB network.
