Patent number: 11972307Abstract: Implementations set forth herein relate to an automated assistant that can be invoked while a user is interfacing with a foreground application in order to retrieve data from one or more different applications, and then provide the retrieved data to the foreground application. A user can invoke the automated assistant while operating the foreground application by providing a spoken utterance, and the automated assistant can select one or more other applications to query based on content of the spoken utterance. Application data collected by the automated assistant from the one or more other applications can then be used to provide an input to the foreground application. In this way, the user can bypass switching between applications in the foreground in order to retrieve data that has been generated by other applications.Type: GrantFiled: August 6, 2019Date of Patent: April 30, 2024Assignee: GOOGLE LLCInventors: Bohdan Vlasyuk, Behshad Behzadi, Mario Bertschler, Denis Burakov, Daniel Cotting, Michael Golikov, Lucas Mirelmann, Steve Cheng, Sergey Nazarov, Zaheed Sabur, Jonathan Lee, Lucia Terrenghi, Adrian Zumbrunnen

Patent number: 10782902Abstract: A method includes providing a device with transmitter parameters set to default factory values. The method also includes receiving, in the device, one or more write commands with test data patterns, and executing, in the device, the one or more write commands to store the test data patterns on a non-transitory data storage medium of the device. The method further includes receiving, in the device, one or more read commands for the test data patterns, and reading the test data patterns from the non-transitory data storage medium. The read test data patterns are communicated by a signal that is sent via the device transmitter. A command instructing the device to update the transmitter parameters values is received, in the device, when a device transmitter signal integrity for the signal communication is below a predetermined threshold.Type: GrantFiled: August 27, 2018Date of Patent: September 22, 2020Assignee: SEAGATE TECHNOLOGY LLCInventors: Choo Chiang Lim, Tse Jen Lee, Kong Yaw Lucas Lee, Jun Gu

Patent number: 7295395Abstract: A motion pattern of an actuator supporting a head is monitored during/after a disc spin-up. The monitor's signal is configured to generate a digital indication of where the head was just before the spin-up. The digital indication is optionally a single-bit indicator that is used directly as a decision of whether to continue a start-up operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 12, 2004Date of Patent: November 13, 2007Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventors: ChoonHoe Koh, HengChang Guo, WaiKhay Chan, JiaHong Shu, KianKeong Ooi, KianSoon Yeo, BengWee Quak, YuNang Zai, Kong Yaw Lucas Lee

Publication number: 20060226257Abstract: A dynamic sprinkling device adopts a deflecting water pressure to facilitate self-rotation of a sprinkling sphere, and allows the water outlets thereon to burst out a variety of spraying points with different rotating patterns through the rotation of the sphere. The self-rotating spherical sprinkler can be installed on any type of water outlets. The structure of the self-rotating spherical sprinkler is an accommodation of a hollow cylinder and a sphere. Through a deflecting through hole on the side of the hollow cylinder, water is injected into the hollow sphere and pushes the sphere to rotate. Water is also allowed to burst out from the water outlets having a variety of arrangements on the sphere.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 6, 2005Publication date: October 12, 2006Inventor: Luca Lee

Publication number: 20050289368Abstract: A power management circuit is provided for a data storage device that is adapted for communicating with a host via an interface circuit. The power management circuit is responsive to a utilization of a control circuit of the data storage device, determined independently of the communication between the data storage device and the host, in providing a supply power to the data storage device. A method is provided comprising connecting a data storage device with a host via an interface circuit; sending data transfer commands from the host to the interface circuit; and monitoring the utilization of a control circuit of the data storage device in terms of the rate at which commands are processed by the control circuit for use in selectively providing a supply power to the data storage device.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2004Publication date: December 29, 2005Inventors: Lai Kein Chang, Lucas Lee, Kian Ooi, Brian Nollinger Nollinger, Robert Warren

Patent number: 6958880Abstract: A device for detecting an actuator assembly parking error when a disc drive is powered on includes a magnetic latch attached to the actuator assembly and a latch pin assembly electrically connected to a base plate in the disc drive, where the latch pin assembly is positioned to contact the magnetic latch only when the actuator's read/write head is positioned over a parking zone on the disc. A detection module is electrically connected to the magnetic latch and thus is able to detect whether or not the magnetic latch is contacting the latch pin assembly when the disc drive is powered on. A method for detecting an actuator assembly parking error includes powering on the disc drive, determining whether the magnetic latch has electrical contact with the latch pin assembly, and reporting a parking error if the magnetic latch does not have electrical contact with the latch pin assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 6, 2003Date of Patent: October 25, 2005Assignee: Seagate Technology LLCInventors: Lucas Lee, YuNang Zai, James Chang, JiaHong Shu, PeiKoh Lee
