Abstract: A method to control communication traffic in a communication network. The traffic includes application-level messages between a client and a server having a private network address. The method includes the steps of: sending by the client a request message requesting a service to the server using a first public network address associated with the server; processing the request message at an intermediate logic unit logically positioned between the client and the server; and receiving an alert signal at the intermediate unit. Upon receipt of said alert signal, the method provides for: mapping the private network address of the server to a second public network address associated with the server; and instructing the client to send the request message to the second public network address of the server, routing to the server only request messages directed to the second public network address.

Abstract: A pourer comprises a pouring body and members for liquid interception disposed inside the pouring body to form a first pouring orifice and a second pouring orifice, which define first and second pouring areas respectively, wherein the first pouring area is larger than the second pouring area. The members for liquid interception include a first wall and a second wall arranged in offset positions in the longitudinal direction and projecting into the pouring body from the inner surface of the pouring body.

Abstract: Solutions for integrating hydrogen getter in powder form within hydrogen sensitive devices, and hydrogen sensitive devices employing such solutions are described. One of such solutions is a hydrogen getter system with a metallic mesh with closed extremities containing material powders.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a tamper evident closure in which the outer portion (10) rises upon first opening, and having means that prevent such outer portion from falling back to the original position once it has risen. Therefore, the tamper evident effect is given by the misalignment of the outer portion and the central portion (8). The closure may be made of cork, possibly of synthetic nature, or of screw type, adapted to be tightened to a threaded pouring device applied to the neck of the bottle.

The passive optical network comprises an optical line terminal (OLT) and an optical distribution network (ODN) having a plurality of optical links. The ONT is connectable to the OLT by a given optical link of the optical distribution network. The method includes the steps of detecting that the ONT has been connected to the OLT by an optical link of the optical distribution network; determining length information indicative of a length of the optical link; comparing the length information with a reference length information indicative of a length of the given optical link; and if the length information matches the reference length information, localizing the ONT by confirming that it is connected to the OLT by the given optical link.

Abstract: A temperature-responsive, mobile shielding device (10) is located between a getter pump (GP) and a turbo pump (TMP) being in line to each other, capable of providing a complete shielding to the radiating heat transfer from the getter pump to the turbo pump when the non-evaporable getter material is heated to be activated, while on the contrary leaving free, without sensible reductions of conductance the transfer during the normal working of the pumps. This is obtained by providing, mounted on a vacuum flange (13) coupling the two pumps, a set of shielding metal members (11, 31) including shape-memory elements, preferably of Ni—Ti alloy, capable of assuming two different configurations in a first of which, at a higher temperature, the shielding members (11, 31) are substantially all co-planar, with their edges slightly overlapping to form a complete shielding, while in a second configuration, at a lower temperature, the shielding members leave substantially free the passage between the two pumps.
