  • Publication number: 20230222472
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing for providing computer implemented services using managed systems are disclosed. To improve the likelihood of the computer implemented services being provided, a subscription based model may be used to manage the managed systems. The subscription model may utilize a highly accessible service to obtain information regarding capabilities of managed systems to present information regarding all potential solutions that the managed systems may provide. By presenting users with such information, the users may not need to be well versed in the underlying hardware and software components necessary for the solutions to be provided. As the hardware components of a managed system are changed over time, the compatible solutions may be continuously updated so that users may be continuously appraised of possible solutions that may be provided using the managed systems.

The subscription model may utilize a highly accessible service to obtain information regarding capabilities of managed systems to present information regarding all potential solutions that the managed systems may provide. In some cases, subscription decisions may be based on inaccurate information. To reduce the impact of such decisions, entities that are more likely to have access to accurate information may elect to honor or reject subscription decisions made by entities that are more likely to have access to inaccurate information.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing for providing computer implemented services using managed systems are disclosed. To improve the likelihood of the computer implemented services being provided, a subscription based model may be used to manage the managed systems. The subscription based model may provide for automatic configuration of and software deployment to any number of managed systems to provide subscribed to solutions to various users. Over time, the solutions desired by users may change. The subscription based model may facilitate automatic disablement of existing solutions and deployment of new solutions to facilitate changes in solutions. To provide for continuity of solutions, the automated disablement and enablement processes may take into account data compatibility, and may proactively reformat or otherwise modify data to reduce data incompatibility.

The subscription based model may provide for automatic configuration of and software deployment to any number of managed systems to provide subscribed to solutions to various users. Over time, the solutions desired by users may change. The subscription based model may facilitate automatic disablement of existing solutions thereby allowing users to only receive subscribed to solutions using managed systems. To provide for continuity of solutions, the automated disablement may take into account data compatibility, and may proactively reformat or otherwise modify data to reduce data incompatibility. Consequently, users of the solutions may be provided with a continuous experience through solution data retention.

  • Publication number: 20230222045
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing the performance of workloads in a distributed system are disclosed. The distributed system may include any number of clients, deployments, and data sources operably to one another. To service the workloads, container instances may be deployed to various deployments. When deciding where to deploy the container instances, the hardware resources of the deployments and/or resource expectations associated with the container instances may be taken into account. By doing so, container instances may be more likely to be deployed to deployments that meet their resource expectations. The resource expectations may be embedded as metadata in resources specific build files.

  • Publication number: 20230222080
Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing computer implemented services using managed systems are disclosed. To provide the computer implemented services, the managed systems may need to operate in a predetermined manner conducive to, for example, execution of applications that provide the computer implemented services. Similarly, the managed system may need access to certain hardware resources (e.g., and also software resources such as drivers, firmware, etc.) to provide the desired computer implemented services. To improve the likelihood of the computer implemented services being provided, the managed devices may be managed using a subscription based model. The subscription model may utilize a highly accessible service to obtain information regarding desired capabilities (e.g., a subscription) of a managed system, and use the acquired information to automatically configure and manage the features and capabilities of the managed systems.

  • Publication number: 20230224229
Abstract: Methods and systems for managing distributed systems are disclosed. The distributed system may include any number of data processing systems that may contribute to the functionality of the distributed system. To contribute to the functionality of the distributed system, each of the data processing systems may need to be configured to facilitate cooperative operation. To manage configuration of data processing system, a control plane may be utilized. The control plane may utilize a consensus based process for managing leadership among members of the control plane.

  • Patent number: 9982721
Abstract: In an aspect, the invention relates to a decoupler that is positionable between a shaft (eg. for an alternator) and an endless power transmitting element (eg. a belt) on an engine. The decoupler includes a hub that mounts to the shaft, and a pulley that engages the endless power transmitting element, an isolation spring between the hub and the shaft. The decoupler provides at least a selected damping torque between the hub and the pulley.

  • Patent number: 8985293
Abstract: In one aspect, the invention is directed to a decoupler assembly for between an endless drive element and a shaft. The endless drive element may be, for example, an accessory drive belt from a vehicular engine. The shaft may be, for example, the input shaft of a belt-driven accessory, such as an alternator or a compressor. The decoupler assembly includes a hub that mounts to the shaft, a pulley that is rotatable with respect to the hub, a dampening spring and a clutch member. A part of the pulley is supported on a pulley support surface on the hub. There is a gap between the pulley and the pulley support surface. The gap has lubricant therein to facilitate sliding between the pulley and the pulley support surface. By eliminating the use of a polymeric bushing between pulley and the hub, there are several advantages that are provided.

  • Publication number: 20130055325
Abstract: A system for providing information to a viewer of a visual content presentation creates a scene database that includes details about many potential scenes planned for a visual content presentation. At least one scene in the scene database is shot then, after shooting scenes and prior to the editing process, the database is updated to reflect actual details used during shooting. The visual content presentation is then edited. After editing the visual content presentation, the database is updated to identify scenes that were actually used in the visual content presentation, and the order in which those scenes appear is specified. A request for details is received from the viewer about at least one aspect of a scene actually used in the visual content presentation, and details are transmitted to the viewer about a requested aspect of the scene actually used in the visual content presentation.
