The invention is applicable to kitchen accessories.

Abstract: A fixed-blade knife having a knife body. The knife body has a blade with a cutting edge and an elongated handle extending from the blade. A guard is pivotally coupled to the knife body and adapted to be actuated between an open position and a closed position. The guard has an external surface that is ergonomically configured for handling the knife when the guard is in the open position. In the open position, the guard is positioned adjacent the handle to expose the cutting edge. In the closed position, the guard is positioned adjacent the blade to cover the cutting edge.

Abstract: A baking sheet having a substantially flat silicone cooking surface, two rods extending along and coupled to opposite sides of the cooking surface, and two thermo-resistant handles coupled to and extending between the two rods. The thermo-resistant handles may be connected to the rods using thermo-resistant connectors. The baking sheet may be rectangular, square, round or other shape. The handles and rods may be manufactured from various materials.

A sharpening element may be disposed within the guard to hone and/or sharpen the cutting edge when the guard is pivoted relative to the cutting edge.

Abstract: A steamer for warming food includes a silicone base and a silicone cover. The silicone base has a bottom surface, a side surface and a rim. The bottom surface is designed to receive food to be heated, and the side surface extends upwardly from a perimeter of the bottom surface to the rim. The silicone cover is designed to be disposed on the base and sized to fully cover the rim. The cover provides a frictionless coupling with the base, but produces a hermetic seal with the base during heating of food contained within the steamer.
