Publication number: 20240382235Abstract: Devices for treating uterine bleeding. An actuator is configured to receive an input to deploy an intrauterine portion of the device to assume a larger outer profile within the uterus. The actuator may be coupled to a device body and configured to receive a pull input, a push input, or a twist input. The intrauterine portion may include flexible opposing members, rotatable tines, a segmented hook, an adjustable loop, or compressible foam. The intrauterine portion defines a lumen and suction ports configured to draw suction within the uterus. Indicia may be provided on the actuator to indicate an extent by which the intrauterine portion has been deployed within the uterus. An orientation of the actuator may correspond to a direction of deployment of the intrauterine portion. The device may include valves and an auxiliary suction source configured to provide suction with the device decoupled from a vacuum source.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 26, 2022Publication date: November 21, 2024Applicant: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian MacLachlan, Robert L. Esser, Laura Frank, Patrick Lafleche, Leif Norland, Lucas Wade, Lauren R. West, John P. Bernero, Christy Sepulveda, Spencer Gage VanSickle

Publication number: 20240359222Abstract: A waste disposal system with a waste receiver for receiving pharmaceutical waste material. A locking assembly is secured to a fixed surface and actuated from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. A lock cylinder of the locking assembly may extend forward of a front wall of a receiver body of the waste receiver to engage a locking feature of the cover in the locked configuration. A cover retention feature may prevent axial decoupling of the cover from the receiver body. The receiver body may be formed from two shells. A reaction agent is positioned within the container volume and spaced apart from a bottom wall of the receiver body. The reaction agent may be positioned within the container volume between the lock passageway and/or a solid receiver volume, and opposing sidewalls of the receiver body. A support may maintain the position of the reaction agent within the container volume.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 10, 2024Publication date: October 31, 2024Applicant: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian James VanDerWoude, David A. Maness, Bryan Matthew Ulmer, Dennis B. Meyer, Lucas Wade, Stephen Myers, Logan Castillo, Heather Benoit

Patent number: 12064797Abstract: A waste disposal system (30) with a waste receiver (32) for receiving pharmaceutical waste material. A locking assembly (34) is secured to a fixed surface and actuated from a locked configuration to an unlocked configuration. A lock cylinder of the locking assembly may extend forward of a front wall (44) of a receiver body (36) of the waste receiver to engage a locking feature of a cover (82) in the locked configuration. A cover retention feature (124) may prevent axial decoupling of the cover from the receiver body. The receiver body may be formed from two shells (62,64). A reaction agent (150) is positioned within the container volume and spaced apart from a bottom wall of the receiver body. The reaction agent may be positioned within the container volume between the lock passageway (94) and/or a solid receiver volume, and opposing sidewalls of the receiver body. A support may maintain the position of the reaction agent within the container volume.Type: GrantFiled: December 26, 2019Date of Patent: August 20, 2024Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian James VanDerWoude, David A. Publication number: 20240066574Abstract: A waste disposal system for receiving pharmaceutical waste material including at least one of a solid phase pharmaceutical waste material and a liquid phase pharmaceutical waste material is provided. The waste receiver includes a receiver body defining an opening. The waster receiver further includes an inner surface defining a container volume in fluid communication with the opening, and an outer surface opposite the inner surface. The outer surface defines a lock passageway separate from the opening. The system further includes a bracket adapted to be secured to a fixed surface and a locking assembly coupled to the bracket and adapted to releasably secure the waste receiver to the fixed surface. The locking assembly includes a lock housing sized to be removably positioned at least partially within the lock passageway.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2023Publication date: February 29, 2024Applicant: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian James VanderWoude, David A. Maness, Bryan Matthew Ulmer, Dennis Meyer, Lucas Wade, Stephen Myers, Logan Castillo, Heather Benoit

Patent number: 11845116Abstract: A waste receiver for receiving pharmaceutical waste material and adapted to be releasably secured to a fixed surface is disclosed. The waste receiver comprises a receiver body with a fluid absorber and a chemical composition disposed within the receiver body. The receiver body defines an opening for receiving the pharmaceutical waste material and comprises an inner surface defining a container volume in fluid communication with the opening, and an outer surface opposite the inner surface with the outer surface defining a lock passageway through the receiver body and a keyway comprising a portion of the lock passageway. The lock passageway is adapted to receive a locking assembly and the keyway is adapted to receive an engagement feature of the locking assembly to releasably secure the waste receiver to the locking assembly in a single orientation. The waste receiver also comprises a cover adapted to be coupled with the receiver body.Type: GrantFiled: May 11, 2022Date of Patent: December 19, 2023Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian James VanDerWoude, David A. Patent number: 11370006Abstract: A waste disposal system with a waste receiver for receiving pharmaceutical waste material. An engagement feature is moved to be disengaged from the receiver body, and the receiver body is moved away from the fixed surface to disengage the locking assembly from the cover. The cover is decoupled from the cover retention feature, and coupled with the receiver body to seal the pharmaceutical waste material. The locking assembly may be removed from a lock passageway for disposal of the waste receiver.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2021Date of Patent: June 28, 2022Assignee: Stryker CorporationInventors: Brian James VanDerWoude, David A.
