  • Publication number: 20020158240
Abstract: The device has an input shaft intended to be connected to motor members and rotating at an input speed and an output shaft intended to be connected to the winch and rotating at an output speed, the ratio between the output speed and the input speed being equal to a transmission ratio.

  • Publication number: 20020098930
Abstract: A system for the transmission of motion to a winch for sailboats, in particular for racing and/or cruising sailboats, comprises first belt transmission means housed inside a pedestal and second belt transmission means between the pedestal and a winch. The transmission system comprises in particular a drive pulley housed in the pedestal, a driven pulley intended to be coaxially mounted onto the primary rotational shaft of the winch, a single belt between the drive pulley and the driven pulley and a pair of motion deviation pulleys between the drive pulley and the driven pulley. The transmission system thus provide for the use of a single belt and a plurality of pulleys; this allows to remarkably reduce the manufacturing costs of the system and simplify its assembly operations onto the boat.

  • Patent number: 4815710
Abstract: A device for adjusting the spaced relation between the cheeks of a sheet nipping sheave as used on winches, particularly for nautical applications, of the type comprising a sheet winding drum (2) with a sheet nipping sheave overlying the drum. The sheet nipping sheave has a lower cheek and a movable upper cheek. The movable cheek has a tubular connecting part provided with internal radially extending projections arranged to engage with corresponding recesses offset in height and formed on the sidewall of a collar which is fastened to the drum. A spacer spring is provided between the upper cheek and the drum.

  • Patent number: 4523744
Abstract: A winch for sheet winding on seacrafts, including a fixed mount, a drum for sheet winding, a rotatable shaft for operationally rotating the drum, a pair of blocking rings operationally connected to the drum and forming between the rings a groove having an axis extending in a predetermined direction and arranged to grasp and drag the sheet into rotation when the sheet is under stress, and a roller for passing thereover the sheet coming from the drum and directed to the groove or vice versa and having an axis which extends in a direction substantially corresponding to the direction of extension of the groove and is slanted to the axis of the groove at a small angle, so that when the sheet passes from the groove to the roller the sheet reaches the roller in a direction almost perpendicular to the axis of the roller.

  • Patent number: 4479453
Abstract: A roller fair-sheet of the type including a mounting with a frame, which is articulated to such mounting by way of a pin and at least three revolving horizontal rollers arranged parallel to each other and transversal to the sheet path in such a way that their envelope provides a cylindrical surface of circular section with small curvature or conic section with great curvature, and the central roller axis preferably coincides with the axis of the articulated pin, while the lateral rollers can translate in space moving parallelly to the axis of the central roller, keeping constant the curvature of the conic section.

  • Patent number: 4443032
Abstract: A lock for boat shutters and the like comprising a shaft, extending through a shutter, with a means thereon providing a square seat at one end, for operation by winch handle, and a hex head at the other end; a handle having a cam engageable with a shutter frame and an opening which receives the shaft therethrough; and a spring-biased knob inserted into the handle and having a hex cavity to receive the hex head of the shaft; the handle having recesses which receive, in one position of the knob, mating projections on the knob to operatively connect the shaft with the cam, and wherein, in a second position of the knob, the recesses and projections are disengaged so that the shaft is disconnected from the cam.

  • Patent number: 4261549
Abstract: A two-speed winch, particularly for nautical applications, comprises a stationary base, a hollow rotary drum supported on the base and a direction-reversible rotary shaft on the base and extending into the drum. The rotary drum may be driven by a first gear train at a first ratio, or by a second gear train at a different second ratio, in dependence upon the direction of rotation of the shaft.

  • Patent number: 4111397
Abstract: This invention relates to a three-speed winch, particularly for nautical use, of the kind having a drum around which a sheet or rope can be wound and which is rotatable by means of the operation of a hand-crank having a pin portion which is inserted axially in the winch to rotate a drive shaft, said winch having a fixed recessed casing encircled by the drum, one end of the casing being provided with fixing means projecting from one end of the drum and the other end of the casing being provided with a rotatable annular member mounted thereon which meshes with the drum through a free wheel gear and arranged to drive the drum always in the same direction of rotation by differently combinable gears contained in the casing whatever the direction of rotation of the operating hand-crank.
