  • Publication number: 20190110731
Abstract: The probe for measuring intravesical pressure includes a flexible tubular element of elongated conformation and having a first extremity comprising at least a supply mouth associable with the supply means of a fluid, a second extremity opposite to the first extremity, positionable inside the bladder of a patient along a direction of insertion, and a first sensing element and at least a second sensing element associated with the tubular element in the proximity of the second extremity and adapted to measure the pressure inside the patient's bladder.

  • Patent number: 9775581
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for determining inhomogeneity in a portion of animal tissue, which provides for the arrangement beforehand of a 3-dimensional density map of said portion of tissue; the map is obtained by means of computed tomography and therefore is formed by a plurality of voxels (VX); for each voxel (VX) of the map, respectively considered as the central voxel (VXC), the following steps are carried out:—determining a space (CC) surrounding the central voxel (VXC) and containing a group of peripheral voxels (VXP),—for each peripheral voxel (VXP) of the group, calculating a value proportional to the ratio or the difference between the density of the peripheral voxel (VXP) and the density of the central voxel (VXC), thus obtaining a plurality of values,—calculating the maximum value and/or the minimum value and/or the average value and/or a statistical partitioning value of these values, thus obtaining a local indicator of inhomogeneity in the animal tissue in correspondence to the ce

  • Patent number: 6461315
Abstract: When treating patients with severely injured or sick lungs, there is often the problem of providing a life sustaining treatment without risking further damage to the lungs as a result of the treatment itself. An apparatus for improving the distribution of gas in the lungs of a patient to alleviate this problem directs a controllable pressure to one or several selected positions on the patient's thorax. In one embodiment of the apparatus, the apparatus includes a vest which includes compartments which can be filled with a fluid under pressure from a pressure source via tubes.

  • Patent number: 4844085
Abstract: A method and a device for measuring mechanical property parameters of the pulmonary system of a patient which comprises;inflating and deflating the lung with a predetermined gas volume with a pump;measuring the pressure changes generated in the lung during inflation and deflation with a pressure sensor;transforming the volume and the measured pressure data into digital form;calculating typical or clinically significant volume to pressure ratios in a data processor and;displaying the result of the calculation.
