  • Patent number: 5768964
Abstract: A method and a device (10) for setting up a web (1) of paper having lateral dragging holes (2) in a paper processing and/or printing apparatus. The device (10) is capable of making a reference hole (3) at the midway line (4) between two successive lateral holes (2a,2b). According to the method, when the web (1) is dragged by a paper dragger (7), reference hole (3) passes under a sensor (6) which signals the passage of it to a control unit. The control unit stores such passage and starts the linear measurement of the web from that moment, by an encoder. The control unit operates a perforating apparatus (8) which makes on the web transversal perforations (9) at the chosen distance for one another. Transversal perforations 9 are made coinciding with the midway line of two successive lateral dragging holes.

  • Patent number: 5720223
Abstract: Transversal perforating apparatus of paper for printers fed by a continuous strip of paper (1) without lateral dragging holes. The apparatus (12) comprises a perforator roller (13) holding a blade (16) substantially transversal to and engaging on a pressure roller (14) rotating in synchronism with the perforator roller (13). Means for varying the speed of the perforator roller (13) are provided for as well as means for measuring the position of the blade (16) with respect to the paper which communicate with a central processor. It is possible, therefore, to make transversal perforations coincident with the beginning and the end of each page printed by printing heads (2,3) being able to also vary the interval between two successive perforations during the course of printing.

  • Patent number: 5673837
Abstract: Apparatus for high speed stacking and cutting of resilient materials to form individual sheets wherein the resilient material is moved through the apparatus towards a stacking plane and is guided past a tear separator actuatable to effect a tear separation along a transverse prepunched line. The tear separator comprises two pairs of respectively upper and lower rollers for friction contact with the sheets. One roller of the upper rollers is provided with a planar beveled portion and the lower rollers are essentially cylindrical, and at least one of the lower rollers is driven into rotation with a speed higher than that of the upper rollers. The lower rollers are spaced from each other in a rest condition when the beveled portion is parallely positioned in front of a plane of the connected sheets in the rest condition of the upper rollers.

  • Patent number: 5560527
Abstract: Web compensation loop device for a web of flexible laser printing paper positioned between a paper supply for supplying paper from a box containing the web in a folded condition or from a reel to a variable speed laser printer. Paper is fed to the printer and to compensate for intermittent operation of the laser printer, a support is provided for supporting and moving the web from the box or the paper roll and positioned between the paper storage and supply unit and the printer for supporting one end of the web, the other end of the web being supported by the printer as the paper moves towards the printer while supporting the web therebetween. The web forms a compensation loop between the printer and the web support as the paper forming the web leaves the support and enters the printer. A roller moves the web from the support to the printer and a variable speed motor, responsive to the intermittent operation of the printer and the web compensation loop drives the web moving roller.
