  • Publication number: 20060292317
Abstract: Disclosed is a multilayer article which includes an ink jet recordable substrate at least partially connected to a substantially nonporous material. The ink jet recordable substrate is at least partially coated with a substantially water-resistant coating composition. Also at least one of the ink jet recordable substrate and the substantially nonporous material is at least partially coated with a friction-reducing coating composition.

  • Publication number: 20060292318
Abstract: A coated ink recordable substrate prepared by providing an ink recordable substrate having a top surface and a bottom surface; providing a coating composition having a pH less than 7 including (i) an aqueous polyurethane dispersion and (ii) an aqueous solution of a nitrogen-containing polymeric dye fixative; and applying the coating composition to at least one side of the ink recordable substrate.

  • Publication number: 20060258797
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an ink jet recordable substrate. In particular, the present invention relates to a water-resistant coating composition for an ink jet recordable substrate, a method for preparing the coating composition and a method of applying said coating composition to produce a water-resistant ink jet recordable substrate. The water-resistant coating composition includes an aqueous polyurethane dispersion; an aqueous solution of a cationic nitrogen-containing polymeric dye fixative compound; and an acrylic polymer, wherein the coating composition has a pH of 7 or less.

  • Publication number: 20060051530
Abstract: Coatings for microporous printing sheets are disclosed. The coatings comprise an acrylic resin and a dye fixative material. The coated microporous sheets may be inkjet printed with good image characteristics. The printed sheets may be laminated, and possess high peel strengths while maintaining favorable optical characteristics. The coated microporous printing sheets are useful for many applications such as laminated security cards, tags and labels, as well as wide format printing applications.
