  • Patent number: 8919246
Abstract: The waste compactor comprises a housing having an inclined wall in the upper part thereof. A motor on the upper wall drives a helical screw on the lower side of the inclined wall which converges conically downwardly with a decreasing pitch. A lower hopper extending downwardly from the inclined wall below the helical screw forms a funnel and is opened above to an inlet area. The inlet area receives waste material to be compacted, which material descends into the area of the helical screw. A lower more narrow end of the helical screw is located in a conduit which is slightly wider than the lower end of the helical screw and converges downwardly to a constriction at its lower end. Waste material is compacted by downward movement under the action of the helical screw and by being forced through the conduit. The lower hopper has drainage holes through which liquid can drain, by gravity, and a collector is positioned to collect the liquid passing through the drainage holes.

  • Publication number: 20130247782
Abstract: The compactor comprises at least one robust transport screw, helix or spiral (16), which is inclined, of conical shape, downwardly converging, with a downwardly decreasing pitch, and is aligned axially with and fixed to the slow output shaft (117) of a reduction gear unit (17, 217, 317) located above and outside the inclined wall (301) of a loading hopper (1) which has an upper descending portion (101) with at least one hatch (2) for the introduction of the waste to be compacted and a discharge conduit (7) whose outlet opening is shut off by constriction means (8, 108, 208). The lower part (201) of the hopper (1) is shaped in the form of a funnel which is open outwards and is provided with drainage holes (9) and a base area (10) into which any liquid present in the waste tends to flow by gravity, means (13, 14, 114) being provided to collect the liquid and to guide it by gravity towards discharge means (20) a container (18).

  • Patent number: 8312809
Abstract: Screw press, with small dimensions, particularly suitable for the compaction of solid waste for disposal also using sorted-waste collection. The screw press comprises an initial large-diameter screw section with a wide-pitch helix, communicating laterally with the bottom opening of the loading hopper (1) in order to remove the material from the hopper and feed it to a following small-diameter screw section with a small-pitch helix, surrounded by an internally scored stator body. This produces the feeding and compaction of the material which also occurs in conjunction with the action of a constriction which acts on the discharge mouth of this latter screw section. A press of this type has the two screw sections (3, 4) which are separated and arranged parallel to each other and one above or around each other, so as to form overall a press which no longer has as its length the sum of the lengths of the two screw sections.

  • Publication number: 20060120914
Abstract: The machine comprises a plurality of identical containers (1), of suitable shape and suitable capacity, preferably having flared mouths and round cross sections, which, by the action of a carousel (7) or any other suitable conveyor means, are cyclically made to interact with the following operating stations: a first station which shreds the containers with their contents, in such a way as to form a finely shredded product which, by suitable means, is fed into each container in predetermined constant amounts, is compacted and is suitably moistened, the mouth of each container being protected and kept clean by suitable means; a second station in which the mouth of the container (1) is closed to form a seal by a piston (39) which communicates by means of a wave guide with the magnetron (55) which generates the necessary microwaves for the sterilization of the waste in the container.

  • Patent number: 6817462
Abstract: A return device for containers, such as bottles, cups, cans, or the like, comprises an insertion opening for receiving the container and at least one distributing means for transporting the container from the insertion opening to a selectable processing means of the return device. For a faster and easier sorting of the containers in a compact way, the distributing means comprises at least one intermediate bottom and a receiving means which is movable relative to the bottom, transports the container away from the insertion opening and is provided with a bottom opening, the intermediate bottom being movably supported in the return device and comprising at least one sorting opening which can be positioned below the bottom opening for passing the container therethrough to the selected processing means.

  • Patent number: 6240937
Abstract: A utilization device for used, stackable receptacles, in particular cups, comprises a guide path arranged at least between a first and a second processing means for the receptacles and supporting said receptacles. Said guide path is formed substantially above a reception opening of the second processing means with a tilting device for tilting each receptacle from the guide path towards said reception opening. For simplifying the structural design of the tilting device and for making said tilting device reliable in use, it is implemented as an area of the guide path in which said guide path is provided with a tilting aperture, which is open substantially towards the reception opening and towards one side of the guide path, and with a rim guide means supporting a rim portion of the receptacle, said rim portion being arranged opposite the reception opening.

  • Patent number: 5888046
Abstract: The machine for collecting used cups enables collection of the cups in a container (2) in such a way as to reduce empty spaces between cups and thus better to utilize the volume of the container (2). A inlet for the cups, through which a cup (6) is inserted into the machine, is connected with a container (2) by means of a track, internal of the machine, on which an operative group (1) is positioned, which operative group (1) comprises a tubular body (11) for guiding a cup (6) on to a stack (9) of cups. The operative group (1) is mobile between a loading position, in which a stack (9) of cups (6) is created, and at least one unloading position, in which the stack (9) is unloaded into the container (2).

  • Patent number: 4624571
Abstract: Apparatus for detecting the coloring of moving tiles for the purpose of dividing their flow into a plurality of flows as a function of the quality of their color. The apparatus detects the color of successive portions of the moving tile and breaks down the detected light spectrum into the three primary colors according to the trichromatic theory. The intensity of each primary color is converted into an electric function by a bank of photoelectric sensors, and this function is processed and compared in a microprocessor with coded signals corresponding to the ideal or optimum coloring that the detected tile should present. The microprocessor emits the signals for automating the division of the flow of scanned tiles into a plurality of flows differing in the quality of the coloring of said tiles.
