Abstract: The automatic coffee-making machine according to the invention comprises a filter carrier having on its base a movable filter for filtering the coffee infusion, there being introducible into the carrier in sealing-tight manner a piston having means for delivering pressurized hot water supplied by a metering unit, the piston being operated for its movements of descent, introduction into the filter carrier element, compression of the coffee powder, raising and lateral rotation by a rod having resilient piston-pulling means and connected to a rotating disc actuated by a geared motor, means being provided to support and guide the piston in its movement, the latter means providing an irreversible transmission of the movement from the motor to the piston, automatic means being provided to expel the spent coffee powder and to supply fresh powder to the filter carrier.

Abstract: The device relates to the distribution under pressure of the hot water coming from a tank, boiler or the like in a coffee-machine and the delivering of the water itself to the chamber where the coffee powder is contained, as well as the filtering of the infusion obtained by the passing of the hot water through the coffee powder as far as the coming out of the infusion itself. The device allows to avoid the clogging of the inlet holes of the hot water into the chamber containing the coffee powder and the clogging or the variation of the holes of the usual filters through which the infusion passes so that the total passing surface of the infusion for filtering remains constant in the time.

Abstract: An automatic coffee-making machine comprising a grinder delivering ground coffee to a metering device storing a metered quantity of ground coffee and of releasing the metered quantity to a delivery chute displaceable from an inoperative position to an operative position above a fixed filter carrier in which is disposed a lower filter for the support of delivered ground coffee. The grinder is driven by a motor responsive to the delivery of a metered quantity of ground coffee to disconnect the motor from the grinder. A piston and cylinder arrangement delivers a measured quantity of hot water to the fixed filter carrier and is displaceable between a lower position to confine the ground coffee therein and to deliver hot water thereto and an upper position.
