  • Publication number: 20220411972
Abstract: A process and plant for making wadding or fiber flocks starting from a padded textile product, either recycled or resulting from surplus production, wherein processing is carried out together and simultaneously of all the textile materials forming the same starting padded product. Compared with the known embodiments of the sector, the process and plant of the invention, in an economical, rapid and entirely mechanized way, allow wadding or fiber flocks to be produced that can be used as insulating padding in the clothing and furnishing sectors.

  • Patent number: 11098443
Abstract: A method for making a thermoinsulating padding, particularly for the cloth article and furniture fields, comprises the steps of: providing a lap by carding in bulk fibers comprising at least a thermobinding fiber; applying, by spraying or spreading, a low glass transition temperature resin, or a mixture of resins comprising at least a low glass transition temperature resin at least on a side of said lap only to the surface layers of said side; drying the resin coated lap in a drying oven to start a cross linking of said resins; actuating said low glass transition temperature resin (previously applied either individually or in a mixture with other resins) by pressure calendering under a controlled temperature, thereby providing a dynamically operating padding.

  • Patent number: 10542789
Abstract: A method for making a wadding strip element, in particular to be used for making paddings of clothing articles such windcheaters and/or shoes, the wadding material being adapted for depositing thereon at least an auxiliary material, comprises at least the further step of subjecting the wadding strip element to a combined chemical, mechanical and thermal treatment process adapted to increase the mechanical strength of the wadding strip element and reduce its porosity, thereby allowing the deposit on at least a surface of at least a printing material or an auxiliary material thereby the deposited material only slightly penetrates the wadding material to create on the surface a predetermined printed pattern configuration adapted to withstand washing operations and inevitable wear, without decomposing.

  • Publication number: 20190062967
Abstract: A wadding structure for use as padding, characterized in that it comprises a plurality of fibres bound together by means of a resin with variable-density uniform finish. The variable-density finish may have a higher or lower density according to the need. The density of the finish entails a variation of the thickness of the product, which on average can guarantee a bulk 30% greater than that of a wadding produced in a traditional way with resin-spraying finish. A greater bulk of the product entails a greater heat value, typically approximately 20% greater, as it is precisely the amount of air embedded in the structure of the wadding that determines its thermal insulation.

  • Patent number: 5593746
Abstract: An improved thermally insulating batt particularly designed for use as filling material for winter apparel, quilts, sleeping bags and the like, is produced by first preparing carded webs consisting of natural or synthetic fibers, plying several webs to form a batt, and then subjecting this batt to a subsequent resin treatment, on at least one face thereof, by using specific cross-linked glues. The resin treated batt is then calendered, under controlled temperature and pressure conditions, so as to obtain, on its surface, a soft, resilient and heat-sensitive film and, in the interior, an air chamber so as to provide a low thermal exchange coefficient and a proper control of the body temperature.

  • Patent number: 4849044
Abstract: A process for the production of padding layers having a high degree of thermal insulation, and particularly suitable for use in clothing and furnishing, comprises the steps of producing, by means of carding machines, a layer or web comprising a mixture of polyester fibres with silicone treated fibers of the same or different nature. This layer or web is then resin coated on one side with a mixture of sticky plastic adhesives which, when polymerized, form a very soft and elastic film; on the other side of the same layer a non-sticky adhesive is sprayed or otherwise applied and the thus treated web is then subjected to a calendering operation at a temperature varying between predetermined limits. Subsequently, a layer of metal particles embedded in synthetic resins is applied to one or both sides of the said layer in such a way as to form a thermal barrier operable to reduce the transmission of heat by radiation and convection through the layer itself.
